Waffle, no...the bugsnax aren't what's causing their sadness. It's because they're trying to compensate for things they lack with bugsnax. Feeding them bugsnax is fine, they just need to realise that they're good enough without them and the way you help them do that is by doing their sidequests. I feel bad seeing you blame yourself feeding them bugsnax for their melancholy, you're not why they're sad and feeding them is fine as long as you do their sidequests.

When you are on fire get hit by a frozen bugsnax, it will put you out and it will break their frozen shield, then use the tripping thing. Also turn the farmer in to nothing but pickles it says his wife loves pickles. Like so he can see this comment.
