from the east end of Glasgow (Mossend), thru Polmadie (Glasgow) and down thru lochwinnoch, Irvine, Troon, Prestwick then Ayr

via Whifflet and Shields junction by the look of it. Now with the completion of the Whifflet branch electrification it should be possible to do this journey with electric traction.
