I like the detail where the reason you can even see stars in the sky is because light takes time to reach our eyes. some of the stars you see in the sky currently, could have been long dead. I cant wait for the movie to come out!

There are four main questions to be pondered about Iron Lung's universe, or lack thereof. Why did the quiet rapture happen and what caused it? What was the motive behind the attack on Filament Station? Why is the C.O.I. Leadership so non-chalant about the fate of SM-8? What's going on with the blood oceans and the anomalies in them? I have nothing solid to base this on, but a hunch tells me the answers to all four are connected in some way. The C.O.I. and/or Eden know something.

Okay, so I'm a little bit confused and idk if nobody noticed this or it's a typo in the scrip or whatever. When you're talking about the 9 days war between Edin a IOC, at 7:30 you say that Edin invaded IOC and the survivors aboard as prisoners of war - but at 10:00 you start talking about the condition of the iron lung, and how IOC didn't want ppl to know it was a execution chamber, and you said the rumor was likely started by prisoners of Edin. I'm just confused which side actually won the war

It wasn’t a war, it was a battle. Eden and COI tensions were always high but they could never afford an all out war. Eden prisoners were taken from the battle and executed in the Iron Lung, but it was covered up by the Conviction Realisation program- a chance to reform prisoners.

Im torn on this. I want to see more stories set in this universe absolutely, but i hope we truly never get answers. That's the true heart of cosmic horror, fear of the unknown. The idea of a cosmic event just...happening, for (from our perspective) no reason, through no fault of humanity and beyond our power to predict or prevent, just shows how irrelevant we are to the universe in the grand scheme of things. Normally we expect stories that set up such an interesting world and mystery would have some pay-off, but the idea of the last vestiges of humanity trying desperately to cling to life, finding little flickers of hope in the darkness, but ultimately just quietly disappearing without ever even knowing what The Quiet Rapture was and why it happened, and the universe ostensibly just carrying on without us, is HAUNTING. Sometimes we just dont GET to know That's cosmic horror right there, the universe will do what it does with or without us. We don't matter

Personally I think the rapture was a transportation of all the moons and spaceships to the void. All the planets and stars did not disappear, the moons and spaceships disappeared. So from the perspective of someone on Earth, the rapture would be like this: All of the spaceships in space have disappeared, and the moon is gone as well! And all the other moons we know of! We don't know what happened to everyone on the spaceships but we hope they are fine

According to several iceberg videos on Iron Lung, about 30 years had passed since the Quiet Rapture and took place a dire war between two factions (or stations) for the few remaining resources. There's left than 1000 recorded humans left between the stations and presumably, small outposts on the blood moons. So if the displacement theory is true that only those in the vacuum were affected, there would be hundreds if not thousands of stranded spacecrafts that served as the final resting place for the poor souls, as they were too far gone from any habitable zone or supply beacon. However given that only Earth and Mars were mentioned as humanity's prime trading route in the 24th century, it's likely that whatever happened to all humans on celestial bodies only happened to those between Earth and Mars, as there weren't more humans in space at the time. It might have been a spatial anomaly that indeed, only happened to those in space at the time, but between the two planets. As for the blood moons, they were shown not to be the Moon that we all know, but something different entirely, and made of human blood with ancient architecture. Whatever the reason for the Rapture, I do hope it was just a "minor" incident created by some dumbass government-funded science project that went terribly wrong for the 1000 humans affected by it and not the rest of humanity.

To those who still don't understand, here's a short version for dummies: Mars gets colonized in 1992, the C.O.I and Eden exist, all stars and planets dissapear, Eden and the C.O.I go to war, Eden troops sabotage the C.O.I and get arrested, 4 moons are discovered and they have human blood oceans, 4 subs are created, 3 burner subs, and the SM8, SM8 gets destroyed, leaving the Iron Lung and it's siblings, Eden prisoners get put in the Iron Lung, and the Iron Lung dies
