Just a thought about multiple aircraft. You could put a rotary switch attached to the master Arduino selecting which aircraft you are flying. Then any slaved Arduinos could look at the rotary switch on the master to determine which code to use to communicate with DCS for that specific aircraft.

I don't know if you're into content creation but if you know how to do this, you should make a video and show it or teach me and I will lol! That sounds really amazing! Great tip man!

That's possible but it really depends on how much memory it will take up, probably best when done with extra memory

Hey man, not a DCS player, but coming at this from some space sims and this has been super helpful. Got me interested in DCS, too. Cheers

So even if I have a joystick controller set up already and plan on adding just two panels, it still DOES make sense to use DCS-BIOS! I just have to read on how to work around limited number of pins on Arduino nano.

I know this video is a year old, so I hope that all of this info is still relevant. Here's a (probably dumb) question, I only see two ground pins on my arduino nano. How do I add more than two buttons to the nano? How would I ground more than two buttons? Thank you guys.

Thank you for this series I have been trying for ages to get this done and I finally build myself a harrier ufc. But there is still one problem I cant synchronise the switches or encoders at the mission Start, even if I turn it on in the dcs misc Settings???? Maybe you can help me?

ive been watching some of your videos. and i had an idea. is it possible to make a concave screen above you with a projector in the headrest of the seat to get the view above? like mounted on the projectors above with a gap so the other projectors still project onto the screens you have now

Question, could you not use the nano as a master and use the other as a slave and input? Not very good with these kind of things

Would it be possible to stack up the same command for multiple aircraft in one nano? Like pasting the master arm of the f-14 and a-10 so it doesn't need to be re-flashed? Basically can you have code for multiple planes in one sketch?

DCS-BIOS turns on the internal pullups automatically. You don't need to do it manually.

Hi. Great channel. I'm having a problem using two arduino micros without dcsbios, the game looks at them as the same. I can only use one or the other. I tried 2 leonardos and i get the same result. If i map keys to one they go to both

Ha!, what a noob!..... ;P excellent vid on getting started, only thing I might suggest (here comes the good-idea-fairy again) maybe include a short video on what things look like when they don't work, errors when trying to write to the arduino, etc. simple little things, common mistakes, unexpected respones.... I realise there is 101 variables that might prevent you from diving too deep into the rabit hole but just a few more 'hot tips for young players' shared wisdoms that would be highly valuable. like, double check your USB cable/connection, COM port#, arduino type selected. etc.etc. again, love your work & appreciate your efforts to produce these to share with the community.

All switches and buttons are controlled by one Arduino board like a Mega model, or each component is using one arduino individual?,
@DriftNick

You can use as many switches on one board as it has input pins or if you use a button matrix you can have even more switches on one board.

Please help a dummy. I was looking at the Pro Micro ATMega and pulled up the pin diagram. I see 16 pins, but some are analog and some are digital??? I’m just trying to figure out how many buttons or switches it can handle. Also can you wire potentiometers into it?
@fon-tijn
@fon-tijn Жыл бұрын
analog can work for pot meters digital wont im pretty sure u can wire leds and buttons to some analog pins and u cant use the tx and rx pins
@GuilhemBrouat
@GuilhemBrouat Жыл бұрын
Analog pins can do both digital and analog, but digital pins can only do digital. So if you want to do only buttons, switches and LEDs you can use all pins.
