Deeply moving work. A powerful ending to a magnificent and under appreciated cycle of quartets.

Since Beethoven wrote 17 quartets, Milhaud decided to wite 18, this one bing the last one. There is no despair or even melancholy in that quartet dedicated to the memory of his parents. The general tone is typical of Milhaud, With his melodic lines and generous harmony.
