Nice Savage, I just got the exact same one but a .22. It has the heavy barrel and accutrigger just like yours. My heart leaped when I saw you with it, now I know for sure I got a great rifle! Still need to shoot it though. Great video by the way, thanks for putting in the extra effort making it even when you didn't have to. Simply beautiful Andrew

Great video Andrew... the edits are awesome! I recently picked up a gopro and am gonna use it from now on! I also am convinced I will be making my snares like yours from now on, using the hay wire. Much cheaper than the other extension wire I have been using! I had back surgery 4 weeks ago and after watching this... I am anxious to get on my feet and back in the country! Thanks bud!

The first two minutes do an excellent job at describing the anticipation involved with trapping. It's a rush that never gets old. The GoPro stuff is really good. The getting water shots are as realistic as it gets. Guys around here use the chainsaw early in the season and then place an insulated roof made from styrofoam and 2x6's to stop the hole from freezing too thick. Or get yourself an ice auger with a 10 inch bit! The days are getting longer. Enjoy the bush before the flies. Thanks.

Love the different angles you took on this one. Very creative.... though I might have worried about my camera falling through the hole in the ice while submerged and me dipping out water.....LOL. Also the time lapse at the end. Great video.
@markmilanowski12 жыл бұрын
The creativity of this video is outstanding! Not only do you have superior bushcraft skill you are an artist! The snow is very deep up there. is that normal? I'm 62 and making a path thru our 12 inches of snow to tap my maple trees (1/2 mile loop) nearly killed me. Waist deep snow, not a chance for me. To be young again. Thanks for your hard work.

Andrew I learned a long time ago how to use a needle bar, what you do is hit the same spot in the ice several times and soon it will start shattering all around and just keep pounding around the outside of your center hole toward the center, you'll find you can make a large hole in about 4 or 5 min depending on how hard you can strike the ice Just a little tid bit.. Keep the vids coming really enjoy them.

Great question, and great answer. I was the kid who cried watching Bambi, but now hunting is a passion. Thanks to Andrew and others like him, I've bought my first traps and plan on getting my kids involved in trapping. There is a common misconception that outdoorsman are a bunch of filthy bastards that just love to see animals die. Nothing could be further from the truth. An outdoorsman is one who respects nature like no other. Thanks neuro for inquiring so respectfully. Peace, from Ben in WV.

Great video, just wondering though, is the water that yellowish color because of the minerals in it or did your camera just give it that tint? Also when you stuck your camera down in the hole when you were breaking apart the ice weren't you the least bit scared of breaking it hahaha?

You do the best videos! They're GREAT! Does your 17 HMR like any one particular ammo over another? The spruce grouse here in Idaho must have a wider variety of stuff to eat. Ours don't seem to taste like spruce. They are dumber than a box of rocks, however, compared to a ruffed grouse or blue grouse.
