Having grown up in Central California, and had many friends of Hispanic culture, I appreciate the respect for magick and witchcraft in the Mexican culture, as well as so many other wonderful cultural aspects therein. I was transplanted to the Midwest in my 40s, and the first things I missed dearly culturally were authentic Mexican cuisine and the musical language....it is rare to find here! Thank you for sharing your insights culturally here, Yazmin!

I find a lot of similarities between witchcraft and my Native culture. Nature being a great teacher we can rely on, this does not come as a surprise. So it does not feel like another part I try to incorporate into my spiritual practice but a natural blend into it. I just feel richer and blessed because of it 🥰

16:11 I grew up in Appalachia and now work at a museum on Lake Superior, I’m not Native American but I learned more about the contributions of indigenous people of North and South America to the world in the past year. One of my favorite things is educating Europeans who were completely unaware. I’ve enjoyed those aspects of our conversations.

As always, a great video. My practice helps me be me. While I don't go around saying, "I'm a witch," because I find that aspect of myself personal, I will share with the right people. And I definitely share with those who try to impose their views on me. I feel I'm at a point in life where I can say, "This is who I am and what I believe." If others like it, great. If not, so what. And my practice helps me write. I love to write.

I think my favourite characters have to be Nanny Ogg (and her cat) and Granny Weather Wax. I also have to mention that I love how you keep some of those interruption moments in your video, showing we all have those unexpected (but cute..most of the time) crotch goblin interuptions! Easier said than done but I hope you're managing to get some rest. Xxx

Absolutely love your channel. Hope its ok to write this post here. Imposter syndrome strikes again :( This is rather long but I just felt today I needed to write stuff down about how I’m feeling and hopefully I can get some answers or replies to help me know I’m not the only one feeling this and it is quite common. I chose a witchcraft path about 16 months ago, as daft as it is I saw a really pretty spell jar and thought I can make those, then I put a Yule table together without realising, I had put together some Christmas decorations on a table and the group I was in mentioned it was Yule so I went away and read about it and that is really where my interest grew. Since then I have read books, some knowledge I keep some I forget but I absolutely love reading about witchcraft. I have done little spell jars, the odd ritual, one I loved was charming my hearth to make it the heart of my home, (from a book) all I do when I do it is just so calming, however why do I feel so disjointed and unsettled a lot of the time? I have put myself a little altar in our spare room, I sit there morning and evening for maybe 5 minutes, no more, I light a candle sit quiet and say different very short prayers. I know everyones path is different but why am I doubting myself? I know many will say I am a witch because I have chosen to call myself one although I do not like titles they kind of make me feel I belong somewhere.

After losing my job to return to help my parents for 7 business days (mom had a cancerous tumor removed) I find myself rejuvenated and naturally inspired to go back to my interior decorating and woodwork. I am planning a new garden for our backyard and continue to grow on my beliefs behind all deities as a way to call upon to help guide me. I find music is more me when it comes to helping me daily and I only watch KZbin or look through Pintrest. I love yellow 💛, it had always been my favorite color, but I also prefer to dress in earth tones. I have always loved cooking and find that relaxing. Thank you so much for your videos, it is so refreshing to hear someone else want to know the history behind the craft. Congratulations on your pregnancy. I just love everything you have to say, mostly because of your honesty. I love to listen to and read about other cultures, religions, beliefs systems, practices, and folklore etc. Learning is one of my favourite things to do, and it has heavily influenced my own understanding and path. How we choose to define our craft or belief system is a personal preference. There’s a lot of reasons why Wicca, Paganism, Trad Witchcraft, etc, may or may not be what’s best for someone’s path. Religion, any belief system, or craft is a sensitive and personal matter, so it’s important to do what feels right for you. Personal experience is subjective and everyone has certain likes, dislikes, quirks and idiosyncrasies. All the qualities that make up your personality, and the things that make you…you. Our introverted intuition should be a guide throughout our journey, as it really is a spiritual pilgrimage. I have several friends that enjoy Wicca, some it doesn’t work for, and some that are in between and open to anything. However, because everyone is unique and finds solace in different things and diverse ways, it’s important that you come up with something that’s going to work for you. Any experience can be internal or external and may look different for each of us. For many people, finding their spiritual path is best done with the help of somebody who is in more of an enlightened position to be able to help them. For others, solitude gives the blessing of reconnecting with their own spiritual needs as well as following their own guidance and wisdom. Our sacred quest is significant, and we should embrace where each experience takes us. Most importantly, always stay true to yourself. Your spiritual path is the most important journey you will ever take.

@@Thewitchescookery Days, I cried for days! And each year I mark his passing and his birth in a little witchy way. Such an amazing man and writer. He definitely had a hand in making me the atheist witch with humanist tendencies that I am today. ;)

I absolutely love your vibe, I've been through a couple of youtube accounts (I'm forgetful and had to make new accounts lol) but the two channels I always end up finding again are Yours and The Witch of Wanderlust. My two favorite practitioners definitely ☺️

I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m not really a “witch” but I am a witch at heart and also do witchy things which I use to think were things everyone did. ☺️

I love your cosy chats (with bonus content in German ;-) ) and your hearth and home based witchcraft, they always improve my day. I've been a druid for over twenty years and there's a big overlap between druidry, wicca and witchcraft. I'll definitely check out your recommendations for channels and I agree that Pratchett's witch books are amazing. One question: which of the Pratchett witches do you think you are most like?
@Thewitchescookery2 жыл бұрын
That makes me so happy to hear!! I find druidism fascinating - I always ment to learn more about it! And yeeees, Sir Terry Pratchett is the best 😄👌 I do think I am a good mix between Nanny Ogg and Tiffany hahah how about you, do you feel any resemblance with any of the discworld characters?
@OldManFerdiad2 жыл бұрын
@@Thewitchescookery I like to think I'm a mix of Nanny and Granny (but probably really have my Tiffany and Magrat moments too hahaha), maybe a bit of Ridcully too as I get older and my beard gets greyer.

I've been creeping your channel since the fall of last year. You are so fun, you're my favorite witchy youtube personality (and I follow a few lol). I feel like if we lived in the same area we'd be best friends forever, and that's a fact. I am SO interested in the retreats you're starting to host...I don't know that I'll be able to get myself to Europe any time soon (but never say never). It would be so dope if you ever decided to pop across the pond and do one in the Rocky Mountains or something. Cuz girl - I would be all over that! :) You add a lot of light and positivity to the internet Bex and I'm so happy I found you. Take care!

Hello my fellow being¡ I just came across your ``Green Witch Tips & Tricks`` video. After being interested in witchcraft along with nature in general {I have a jar full of leaves, rocks, and sticks currently, o;}, and I was wondering if I could practice 2 parts of witchcraft. For example, I want to learn the practices of Green Witchcraft, and Kitchen Craft. Is that possible? I have somehow forgot to mention I am most certainly interested in herbalism as well, and cooking

I am trying to find a nice system to keep my recipes which are on my phone at this moment. How do you store your recipes? 🙂
@Thewitchescookery2 жыл бұрын
Mostly in my head 😅 I seldom cook by recipe - I take the idea and then just make it my own. But the ideas I usually store in a Pinterest folder! And if I do have a very special recipe I love, I will write it down by hand in a special notebook I have for that ☺️ and of course, I do have some cookbooks that I adore
