Best band ever. The world needs more 28-minute songs, and the Neal Morse band are just the fellas to do it.

I had the privilege of being the "director of stuff" when our church hosted NMB for Morsefest London 2024 a few weeks ago. In spite of the fact all the band members are world class multi-instrumentalists, they are simply the most unassuming, friendly people you could ever meet. @16:51 you asked how Neal changes instruments so quickly - his keyboard tech is sitting off stage following the music note by note and punching in the changes for him. That's one less thing for Neal to worry about when performing 🙂

These guys are absolutely amazing. What one would call the perfect band. I hope you all check out the other Neal Morse and Eric Gillette reactions, that I requested. I've been trying to talk Michael Sweet of working with these guys. Lol! What a great project that would be!

I agree Jon, there is something about Eric's voice/vocals that I just love. I've been blessed to see them a few times and Eric singing gives me goosebumps.

To be fair, this is actually the "Neal Morse Band". And it should be credited to them. Perfect band I'd say. And this is from their first album together.

I've seen The NMB live three times in Boston and was blown away each and every time! I've also met them all and they are stand up, nice, polite and gracious artists. I just love this super talented group!!

Neal has worked with Mike Portnoy for around 20 years since they both left their previous bands around the turn of the century. They worked as a core with Randy George for a while, during which time Neal also worked with such guitar heroes as Paul Gilbert and Steve Hackett. 10 years ago Neal asked for people to send in their video demos to join his band. Eric Gillette and Bill Hubauer were the lucky winners.

I got to see this live and it was absolutely mind blowing!! It wasn't this specific concert but it was on that tour and I loved every second of it!

If this band was around in the a 70s they would be selling out arenas and stadiums and Eric Gillette, the lead guitarist would be considered a rock god.

This is the song that made me a Neal Morse Band fan. I discovered this song the same day I discoverd Kaipa's A Map Of Your Secret World. It was a great afternoon years ago. (P.S. Also check out Ritual's A Dangerous Journey for this same feeling)

This was awesome! Thx so much. This band is incredible! As Neal and Mike like to say…”another day …another epic” Neal Morse is a genius composer and everyone in the band plays on another level. This reaction was so much fun 🤩

I got to see them a few years ago, great band. The guitarist Eric is very talented. Neal Morse was in Spock's Beard. Really all of them are great musicians.

Mike and Neal are Beatles fanatics and love vocals harmonies. They even play together in a Beatles tribute band Yellow Matter Custard. They released 2 cds/dvds as Yellow Matter Custard -- One Night In NYC and One More Night In NYC

Great reaction. Loved your reaction. That's why I said to you that you've never seen anything like this. Not only do they all practically play every instrument, they all sing too, except for bassist Randy George. On top of that, to do those harmonies live -- stellar performance.

Randy actually can and does sing occasionally on certain tracks--likr during their 'Gentle Giant' influenced songs-he does the lowest/deeper parts.

For some reason, live version of Alive Again is the one that pops up first on You Tube. As you noticed it skips backward in time and repeats the start of the solo section. Wish somebody else could put up a version without the skip. Either way, an epic jam!

Great reaction guys, what a performance, the stars aligned when these guys got together 7 odd years ago, one of the greatest prog bands in history. Absolutely love this piece, one their best, from their incredible debut album The Grand Experiment, check out the title track & the opening track The Call. Also check out Neal & Mike's other band, Transatlantic (arguably the greatest prog super group in history which brought together Neal, Mike, guitarist Roine Stolt from the Flower Kings & bassist Pete Trewavas from Marillion) & another great epic, Stranger in your soul. Cheers

The guitarist Eric Gillette released a solo album and also played drums on the album Blood Of Kings by Trytan. Bill Hubbauer on keys, and Randy George on bass. Randy George he as recorded 3 covers albums with Neal Morse and Mike Portnoy as Morse, Portnoy & George.

I've lost count of how many times I've seen these guys live. Been to every Morsefest etc. They have never been anything less than stellar and may very well be the most talented band out there. You should delve deeper into their works. Great reaction.
