I commented on your other video. Thank you for the update. I was paid salary but people have to remember, how many hours EXTRA do you put in over 40 hours? And it's expected, if not demanded. It looks good on paper but when it came down to it, I now make more hourly (40 hours) than working salary (average 70 hours a week). I also have multiple streams of income and the small stuff adds up. You may not think $50 here or $25 there adds up, but it does. I "retired" to a beach town at 42 and am working what is considered a boring job but I love it! I simplified everything. I have a small mortgage on a tiny condo (will be paid off in 5 years), phones, internet, gas for my vehicle, insurance, food, a small amount set aside of rainy days, and my job does have health insurance and a small help with retirement. I walk the beach several times a week, eat fresh, simple food, make my own pasta now and started selling my arts and crafts at the local farmers market.

It's so nice seeing people who have the courage to leave the insanity of the corporate world to really pursue their dreams! I used to be in management in retail and I decided to leave it about seven years ago. I now run an etsy store where I sell my crafts and I also sell Avon (going on six years and I absolutely love it!). Doing these things has given me the time I want to do what my heart wants me to follow and I couldn't be happier. Congrats to you for following your heart!

Beautiful! I'm reminded of my own choice to leave the corporate world behind (including work in the interior architecture field), and I've never looked back. I now have children, and while things can be difficult and tight without the big steady paycheck, I love that I've been able to raise my boys to be strong, healthy young men, be a part of their lives, pursue creative passions, and support women to feel more empowered in their lives too. Such a joy!!! I think the biggest validation for me was when my oldest son entered high school. I wanted my boys to have an alternative education that supported them to be free to be themselves and follow their passions too, but that meant private school tuition. I somehow managed to do it, and was so happy when my son came home one day and said, "You know mom, I kind of like that we don't have lots of money and ease like most of my classmates do." When I asked him why, he said, "Because I know how to do so much, and create so much. Most of my classmates don't even know how to make a meal or figure things out because they have someone to do it for them or pay for it all the time." WOW!!!! To this day, I think raising my boys to appreciate life in this way is my greatest accomplishment. Keep doing what you're doing.

“Pursuing wellness of mind and spirit over productivity” Love this idea. Our wellness mentally, physically, spiritually etc should be one of our top priorities. You are incredibly brave not only pursuing what you want and what you feel is right for you, but also sharing with the world. Your videos are not only peaceful, but also inspiring. Looking forward to watching more of them. Beautiful scenery in this one by the way.

Your cinematography is stunning ✨️ and I love the way you structured this video. You are a talented filmmaker/story teller! I can relate very much to your story. Although, the job I quit which was completely draining me was a waitressing job (and the culmination of decades in the food service industry lead to my burnout). It's true- jobs that pay tips can pay more hourly than some jobs you aquire with a degree! However, I think you can burn out in any profession if you are not living in tune with your values. I couldn't agree more with prioritizing wellness over productivity! 💛

8:40 I totally agree. Happiness is not a permanent state of being, it's fleeting. I'm totally fine with being content instead, and I'm not fine with anything that compromises that which is what my corporate career kept garnering. It's not worth having a career with deeply painful consecutive moments when you can have a simpler career which allows you to give attention to all aspects of your life.

Great video, thank you for sharing the ups and downs of such a big decision and not painting it through rose tinted glasses. You've really helped me to ground into my own feelings towards leaving a job behind and paving a new path, as I was really feeling self doubt and fear for the future. Thank you 🙏

I am glad you have realized this while you are still young. Some of us don't realize it is not the only way until our later years. I left a job to pursue a higher paying fast paced job only to learn it made me miserable and depressed, feeling like a failure. The long days and commute took its toll on my physical and mental health. Fortunately I was able to return to my previous employer after five years. The grass is not always greener with a larger income. Best wishes to you on your new adventure and lifestyle. I'm sure it's worth it all.

Thank you for this beautiful and thoughtful video. I admire you so much for making the time to go deep and figure out what makes you happy and what feeds your soul. I was not as brave as you, and stuck it out in a career and job that made me miserable for a very long time. I am 70 and retired now, and wonder what life would have been like had I been able to do what you are doing. But I can tell you that it's never too late! I am finally doing what you are doing, but with much less energy and time. Nevertheless I am finding myself and becoming creative again. I will continue to listen to you my dear. You are wise beyond your years!

Your story inspires me and so many others. Sooner rather than later. It is a beautiful and worthy thing to be present as a partner to care for your parents and to be a sister and friend. There is no sense in wasting away in a job u hate with no growth personal or otherwise. There is another way. Walking away is the biggest step. But in time you will reap all the rewards from this profound decision. Learning to let go is the most natural part of life. It's high time we all started exploring it more. Only the most courageous of us will take this step. There is no security in this life. The only constant is change. ❤❤❤❤

Hello beautiful soul, Apologies, I haven't watched all of your videos yet, so I don't know your name. I loved your video a lot and the other video about quitting the corporate job. I can really relate to everything you have talked about, I am a graduate of a school of Engineering, and I didn't like it or want it one bit, and I was expected and encouraged to work in the field, however, a few days ago I have enrolled in an online university to study the thing I have been wanting to study for years now, Philosophy. It truly was a dream of mine, but I had no means of achieving it until now. Even though I had no emotional support from anyone taking that decision, most of them actually discouraged me. But I knew it was the only thing I wanted to do truly. I wouldn't say it's easy, like not even close, I am in constant fear about what my future holds, and I am not sure if I have anything to present in this field as there are no signs of that outside myself, the school is not even accredited in the US yet, and I don't have enough financial savings to complete my studies, and finally, I keep questioning if it is worth it even though I feel that it is. To be honest, I can not even reasonably justify why I am doing it, all I know is that my heart is telling me that I should. It might seem crazy. But you know what, we would never know until we try. Please wish me luck because I need it :)

I went back and watched that previous video, thank you for that, apologies for the rather long comment I made. It doesn't matter what you do or don't do in this life there will be someone out there with an opinion that you are wrong... I don't think so, I thank you for stating what we all should know, but usually find out too late. Well not too late for me, I'm 70 now, not old as far as I am concerned and my life is just beginning to be what I want it to be over the past 6 months. I've done my bit, now I living for me. That's all you can do ultimately...do what you think is right, even if it turns out not to be, but if you don't try you wont know. Do what you want not what others think you ought to do. Try not to take on their stress and pressures. Personally I'm sad at the way things are in the US. Nobody should have to survive on tips and have low wages. Not everyone is outgoing and attracts that extra bit of money. Also I think your govt should be supporting its people more and giving free health care where needed and making affordable for those who can afford to buy it. That's what its like in Australia. There are public hospitals here and private. despite the complainers there is support for those who need it. Casuals earn a good wage, and tips are shared amongst all staff. I don't know what your $401K is.. a retirement fund of some kind but we have superannuation here where people who work put aside an amount of money not to be touched until they retire. When we retire for whatever reason we get paid a pension by the govt. It is not substantial but allows a simple way of life if you are careful and don't waste it gambling, smoking or drinking it away. I think when they say "Australia is the lucky country" they are so right... stick with what you are doing because the higher qualified you are, the bigger the job, the more stress, the bigger the bills. You are so lucky to have a hubby who values your thoughts and respects your needs and emotionally supports you. The kids will come whether you have a big house and mortgage or a fancy job.. they just do :) . Its a pity people cant realise they have to live within their means, buy smaller houses, cut back on all of the technology and get back to community and family. Thank you for such beautiful videos. I hope KZbin is successful for you but then the more people you have the more the pressures and stresses to perform come your way.. don't be in a hurry to 'get yourself out there'. Love and hugs from Western Australia

Thank you so muchhhhh for your Raw , Sincere Truth that you shared with us about your Daily Life ! I love to see myself in your creative , happy soul who just wants to have a Simple Life ! I totally feel you . Since I became part time worker I truly discovered incredible things about myself : my spiritual gift which leaded me to open my online shop and creating my KZbin channel where I can feel so happy by sharing my wisdom and simply just being in service . If I didn’t quit my full time job I would have been in the same frustration and not feeling happy . I also don’t know what the future holds for me but what I truly feel in my heart : I am on the right Path and I am so excited where my creative soul will take me ! I am feeling the winds of change coming . I don’t like to settle for less because I have learnt that Self-Love is when we dare to dream big and every single day taking small steps towards our dream life . I adore your simplicity because I am like you I am the happiest child when I am in our Mother Nature ! Your Chanel is pure Medicine because we all wanna feel connected , understood and when you share your story with so much vulnerability, we all are being encouraged to follow our hearts too ! It’s too simple to stay in our heads but the ones that follow the Heart are the most courageous Souls !! Just the way you are !! 💖🎆😻🙏
