The 3 KW spindle is indeed an overkill if you plan to cut only wood/mdf... This one is quite capable for cutting metal too. You could've easily gone with the 2.2 KW one. My old router used a 2.2 KW spindle, it sliced through MDF like butter, and it was doing quite well with aluminum. I guess you got the standard version with plain stepper motors. The upgrade to hybrid motors would've costed you no more than 300-400$ extra. But you can do that upgrade at a later stage youtself. Have fun playing with it and learning :) And keep in mind that a lot of the behavior of this machine depends on the G-Code you feed it. If it starts doing jerky motions, try different software (to generate the G-code), don't blame it on the machine :)

Since you have one, could you please tell me your system and the actual cost you paid? So many wrong answers I am getting.
@zeoxbg Жыл бұрын
@@ttoddh1 I have a bigger version, the 9015 (90cm x 150cm). In its standard config it was listed at a price below 4000$, something like 3800$ I think. However I requested hybrid steppers with more torque, and changed the spindle from 2.2Kw to 3KW. And also requested a few little touches extra. The upgraded version costed about 5000$ EX WORKS. With shipping (to Bulgaria) + customs and other extra expenses it finally equated to about 7500$.

@@TheWoodworkingHack Quality is quite good for the price. I would guess that you paid somewhere about 3000$ ex-works. Just today I unloaded the bigger brother of this machine - the 9015, 600 kilos. And it was quite amuzing to watch you work with the hydraulic jacks, as I did the same just a few hours ago... Of course with the help of two friends. We got the 9015 with a few upgrades, mainly Hybrid stepper motors and it cost us 4400$ ex-works. With shipping, tax and all other expenses it costed us about 5500 EUR. There's no other product that is even remotely close to that price and quality combo. Before this, we've used a local build that was slightly cheaper, waaay worse and laccking many essentials. The cheapest locally made product of similar quality starts at 10 000 EUR. All in all they are great machines for their price, and if you know what you want them to do, the manufacturer can customise them as yper your request.

You can ask the CNC supplier to provide you a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) delivery terms. That is a Door-to-Door delivery fully paid. or, you could find a local shipping agency that can pickup the machine right from the factory and do their magic to deliver it to your door step. Hope this helps knowing i replied 8 months late.

Why are Woodworkers getting away from working with wood and buying a CNC..
@TheWoodworkingHack3 жыл бұрын
I view it as just another tool in the shop, not getting away from woodworking. I mean, if one is a true woodworking purist, they best not have a single power tool in their shop, right? No table saw, no cordless drill, router, miter saw, etc. A CNC is just another power tool that allows one to be more creative...Just my 2 cents.

@@TheWoodworkingHack Here is my two cents, at least a woodworker would be touching the wood while using the machines, not spending most of the time on the couch in front of a computer drawing setting CNC paths.
