Great video. I loved the bit where you set the drill depth by sitting the drill bit on a washer. Fantastic tip thank you 👍

I missed this the first time around. You did a great job showing the features for it! I’m not entirely sure I have the smarts to set this up, but it looks handy.

Thank you Rob 😊 I've used it a lot since. It's the easiest jig I've ever used and I forgot how great dowel joinery was 😁 ॐ

Great video. How do I space the holes evenly on a 400mm board?
@Momoka72 жыл бұрын
This is actually a not bad one! I was giving up, seeing the ones sold for $70 at Rockler or the cheapo version from Harbour Freights. With those you can drill easily if you want to join the sides of two boards, but if you want to connect it differently, like shown here at 12:36 you are stuck. But this one here, you can take off the 45 degree angle and lay it flat on the board strait at the spot needed. Nice! Might get this one actually.

I''ve never actually seen a dowel joint made before. I'm not Wood Yogi but that jig looks like something I could use!

It works so great Steve that I have already put it through its paces on a few big tops I am working on 😊 I need to build a couple of electric guitars for myself and I want to use it to join the body pieces together and see how it goes 😊 ॐ

The Wood Yogi good luck with that. Sounds like there’s another dowel jig video in the works!

Absolute great demonstration again. I would like to have a good doweling toy but the flat pack bits give me horrible flash backs to Argos furniture and IKEA 😭😂 great work as always Chris. 😊
@TheWoodYogi5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Karl 😊 I know what you mean about flat pack bits 😂 I needed to demonstrate the furniture connectors, but to be honest the doweling aspect of the jig is brilliant. I usually dowel using traditional measuring methods, but this is so easy I feel spoiled by it 😂 I don't want to rely on jigs too much, as I try to teach young people how to do stuff the old ways, but it will definitely get used a lot on my own projects 😊 ॐ

you couldn't drill the hole for the Furniture Connector Bolt? didn't the jig have the proper bushing for the drill for that bolt?

I used to have drawers full of them Frank 😂 I had to buy a few packets to use with the jig, but I was surprised how easy it was to make the joint. I'll need to make something now using them 😊 ॐ

Looks like a well made jig. Can be hard (or rather, I find it hard) to line up dowels and so this may be the answer. Thanks for the review and the demonstration. As ever, best wishes my friend. :)

Это когда дощечка по ширине как кондуктор. А если одна шире чем другая? Уже эта технолония не даст такой стыковки. Или если толщины разные?

I can definitely recommend it Rob 😊 It is good quality and accurate. I've had other products to review (not from Banggood), they are sitting on a shelf and will never be seen in video or probably be used by me 😂 The products I have reviewed so far have been great 😊 ॐ

Thank You for this video, because of it I ordered the same jig and it is very solid and robust. There was an extra bushing in the packet, it fits around frostner bit and goes through the cabinet connector hole, perhaps it's for added support?
@TheWoodYogi4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Rane 😊 I'm happy that you found the video useful. I have used the jig a lot since the video and it's great. This week I joined 3 meter lengths of old floorboards (around 300 years old) that I salvaged from the old section of the house to make countertops for our kitchen and thanks to this jig it was easier than I expected 😊 I think you are right about the extra bushing, but I hadn't worked it out at the time of making the video. Blessings 😊 ॐ
