I have been waiting for a pastor to understand this issue and to speak to it. So often I have heard it said (joked about rather) that if a woman is still single in church she hasn't read her bible enough, prayed enough, fasted enough, etc. All this alluding to the cause being directing associated with the fact that the woman is not spiritually ready for marriage. But there is soo much more to the warfare behind it and many shepherds continue to preach sermons without understanding the changing times/generations/facts. And frankly, its exhausting to hear time and time again. Thank you Pastor Vernon for touching on this topic and bring truth and another perspective to light.

Great topic. I have said this for years that this topic is not addressed in the church. Black women are faithful to the church and Black men, but both have let them down in many ways. Some suggestions are what you said, prison reform as well as churches evangelizing the prisons as opposed to the Black Muslims. Having said all of that I try to enjoy life to the fullest as a single over 60 woman. I take myself out to events, I travel alone and meet people along the way. I pray to still have a mate one day but I refuse to just sit at home and wait...😎

It seems as though instead of singles being drawn to each other, they are passing one another. Most singles seem to have similar values and goals, but we see few connections being made.

Your question - Women who want to be married, how does the church handle them? We are easily ignored. Church programs are about marriage and raising children. Furthermore, if you are unmarried and don't have children, you should be available at all times for church events, positions and responsibilities. Some folks will insult you if you decline or say no because you clearly have 'nothing else to do' since you don't have a spouse and kids.

Pastor, can you discuss our relationships with food. We are not taking good care of our vessel and we abuse food. This affects our sexual health! Dr. Vernon, I appreciate what you are doing for the body of Christ and beyond. At the end of your podcast you usually say that your girl and you have to "write some checks". Each of your messages is nuanced by things only people with large amounts of money either have or can accomplish such house help, cleaners, homes on ranches, one month vacations, etc. Not mad at you at all but in my opinion you are tone deaf. So many can't afford food for themselves and their children. In some cases people are surrending pets because they can no longer afford vet and food bills. Why not allow your platform to grow organically and trust God to enrich your ministry with the resources so you and your can write checks. (Do you actually write checks anyway or does your CPA?) Either way I cringe at the end of each podcast. Consider feeding the people just because, the riches will follow.
