I often give my clients a bit of advice concerning colouring their hair at home, because they can't always afford my salon service, and I'd sooner they get it right and keep coming back to me for there cut. I'd call it good customer service. Great video as always ❤

Red suits you SO much Craig :) again and again, thanks for sharing your precious knowledge. I have a question please: Does dye shampoo can replace the home dye for roots? such as Polar Instant Dye Shampoo that I saw the ads. Or am I being fooled by commercial ads?!! I was just wondering if I can find a way easier!! thanks for your reply in advance

Awww, thank you and thanks for watching. I’m afraid that’s false advertising, you can’t get the result of a permanent hair colour with shampoo.

Another helpful video from the King of hair!❤ It was well timed for me. I used the exact same wella color two days ago, and got a very brassy result. I'm 80 percent white hair now, but was trying to cover my roots. I used the dedicated developer and left on for 40 minutes. I have a very bright gold brassy result. Does this mean I should try a different color in the line? I'm trying to achieve a level 6 ash light brown, but was afraid a 6/1 would go too gray on my white roots. So appreciate you Craig!❤
@theworldofcraig17 күн бұрын
Awww, thank you, so glad I could help. I’m assuming you mean that you used 6/0…? You could add a 1/4 of 6/1 next time - always work in increments until you get the desired result, remembering, the cooler you make it, the darker it will look.

It took me ages to get the hang of the tones, I've always wondered about the % of tone, for instance if the whole colour 10/16 is 100% would it be 50% 10, 25% 1 and 25% 6? If you get what I mean, is that being too technical? They never say how much ash or violet there is in that colour, Im thinking if I was mixing paint it would make a difference to the colour how much ash or violet I added. Anyway thanks for the video, look forward to the Christmas shop up! 😊
@theworldofcraig17 күн бұрын
The general rule is this - Take your example of 10/16 - the 10 is just the level, it bears no bearing on tone at all, so there is NO “natural”. The the /1 is strong ash…with /…6, soft violet. Remembering - ash is very powerful as it’s so “cool” and the darker the level, the more pigment there is in any hair colour. Awww, I’ve just watched the final edit and it’s so much fun, I can’t wait to share it!

Very educational! Thank you. Soo... If I want to pick a slightly less rose golden tone than L'Oreal Casting Natural Gloss 623. Do I step away from that line? Head over to Redken or Wella Color Touch? It made me ridiculously darker, matte and lost the pop. (Might have had it in for a few minutes longer...) And my summer hair (top and ends) lost dimension for the first 4 washes. And yes, I also didn't wash it out with shampoo, just water and the conditioner directly after the treatment...🤷🏻♀️ My hair looks more or less like the picture on the package, with golden highlights. Thinking of the Wella Color Touch 7 series? I want to cover up grey regrowth and add some lovely gloss and pop!

@@livboeYou’re most welcome, glad it was helpful. Very tricky for me to help with shade selection remotely but I would suggest sticking with the line you were using - better than jumping about - and going up a level in depth…if you liked the tone. I would always, always strictly follow the development timings and if your ends are already coloured only apply the product to them for the last 5 minutes - then if that’s good you could apply for the last 10 minutes the following time.

Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge! I've been binge watching all your videos the last few weeks, especially the shades eq ones. May I ask, is it okay when looking to grey blend using a shades eq nb to only use nb or do you need to mix to get a better result?
@theworldofcraig17 күн бұрын
Awww, that’s great to know, thanks for your support. You sure can - that will give you the most “blending”.

@theworldofcraig thank you so much! Off to study anything else I need to know before I try this 😁. I've spent 5 years with no hair dye and don't want to ruin what I have. I wish you were in Australia! No one here seems to know what I'm talking about when I talk about grey blending or they think I want bleached highlights. I appreciate the reply!

Have you any tips on how I can match my ends with my toner to my roots? Iv done full head of foils and my roots and ends arnt matching, should I bleach bath the ends then tone them again? Please help 🙏

Very tricky for me to help remotely. I would suggest deepening the roots over lifting the ends…

Hello dear Craig! I have a question... I have a level 5 mix of shades EQ on my hair. I want to remove it and go much lighter. Would you tell me the best method of removing EQ from my hair?

Hi there. So there is a video here on my channel - last year, it’s in the tutorial playlist - of my preferred method of removal and another event one where I take you through removal.

Wella owns Clairol??😭 Since my rescue beagle died I've sworn off products tested on animals, specifically beagles. For this reason I've been using Wella as they advertise being cruelty free and from my limited researching skills, seemed to have been legit. Until this moment I've been very satisfied with their products. Clairol is one of the worst offenders when it comes to testing on beagles, cats and other household animals. Wella owning Clairol just destroyed me. There truly is no one in the manufacturing world that can be trusted. Thank you for sharing this, dear Craig. I may be outraged but I'd rather know than not know. I always love and learn from your videos so I truly hope this didn't darken your day.
