Wayne, I lost my mom in 2011, I’ve never been the same since. She was so supportive to me as a kid. Especially when she was so instrumental behind my love for Star Wars growing up. I’m 53 years old now and she was truly the glue that held the family together. I want to thank you for your great KZbin channel and all of your support and guidance as I build my R2-D2

The path to a happier healthier you after such a loss is never an easy one brother nor should it be. We hurt because the love is real. In those moments when the memories flood your mind let the tears fall or the laughs come. In these small ways we can honour and cherish those we loved and still love. From what I can see in this incredible community you’ve helped nurture with your generosity of spirit. I’d say there’s a ton of people who would echo these sentiments. Wayne, Merry Christmas. I know what you mean. "Being in a bubble" is the best description. I lost my dad in 2016 from cancer. He had it for about 10 years until it took him. I got a call from my mom that dad was not going to be here too much longer, so I flew out from California to Missouri. When I got to their house, my dad was in his bed and mom said "Hey hon, look who's here". And he opened his eyes, smiled and he said, "Hi son." we lost him later that evening. It does change you when you lose a parent. Something you took for granted, as in they would always be there, is gone. The things that got me out of my bubble was finding you and Lou Dalmaso. I watch the two of you every time you post. Models have always been my escape, and since I don't have the time currently to build, I live vicariously in the two of you. Love ya Wayne.

Vik and I can surely relate to that. This Christmas just didn't feel like Christmas for us, having both lost our mothers in recent years as well. We seem to still be stuck in that bubble you mentioned. But glad to hear that you both are doing well this Christmas warms our hearts. We miss you both and hope to see you again this year at Wonderfest.

I can relate a bit. Lost my Mom to cancer in June '90. She was only 56. Spent the rest of that year just mostly going through the motions. Oddly enough, taking in a cat that fall that showed up on my stoop gave me something to focus on. I had her for 11 years. Maybe my Mom sent her to me?

Lovely speech Wayne. I know how you feel Wayne when I lost my wife last year at the beginning of 2023.. that’s so hard to get out the bubble I still struggle now, but I’m getting there. I’m so happy you have people around you to get you out of it . Modelling is what kept my mind off everything after she passed away and watching your kind warm presence on screen lifted me up as well.. She knew the Lord Jesus, so I know I will see her again one day. She was 99, and my Dad is still here at 101; just saw him yesterday. Anyway, I am glad for your daughter’s getting married, and I look forward to watching your channel all next year. Love the starship, E.T. and BTTF builds! Titanic is pretty cool, too!
