It's actually kinda interesting the way that they implemented this. Usually what games will do is one of two things: they'll either change the FOV of the viewmodel camera (not the player camera) to get rid of that tube look or they'll put a camera at the end of the sight and project what that camera sees on the part of the scope you look into. What Stylis did was made the scope glass have a property that when looking through it, it hides all of the other parts of the sight mesh behind it. Super weird tbh but it's an interesting fix, especially for such a convoluted game engine like Roblox is.

@@dan_chen no they did exactly what brm5 did which is to make the imside od the scope invis through the glass which can be annoying in certain lightnings and is why i hate this system Dual rendering is to have the inside of the scope zoomed in but not the rest of the screen, or in other words exactly how a scope irl works

@@dan_chen as i said its just a performance problem and not an engine being shitty thing (although the lag that it will create is somewhat thanks to the shitty engine) As for the shaders, if you had ever used an optic in brm5 post 6.4, you will know that any sort of lighting behind you, most commonly celing lights, will just cause the glass to bounce all the light back, rendering the optic useless. This is with vanilla graphics btw

I FOUND OUT SOMETHING ON THE TEST PLACE. The halbeck device may become the next meta. That's because it doesn't give you that weird effect of pulling down your gun while firing anymore. Now, it's more realistic and only stabilizes the vertical recoil significantly. It works on the guns that are testing the new recoil system. Edit: It works better in high recoil guns like the SCAR-H, in low recoil guns like the M4 it will pull down the gun when firing, so maybe won't be the meta for everything but may change the meta.

Oh boy you severely underestimate the power of reverse recoil on burst weapons. Once you learn the habit of trying to aim for the head, it's the single most broken burst mechanic in the game

They did really put "magnification" in the chosen sights and the scopes, these look more clean and not like a "tube attached with 2 glass mirrors with added designs" as well as, the feeling of "tunnel vision" is what the phantom forces need to remove to the rest of this scope change (In example of Global Offensive scope, the Aug A1 scope, and more)

this looks pretty similar to what brm5 did a while ago with their scopes, if anyone played back before resurgence like i did you probably remember scopes like the comp m4 having the same issue the pf scopes do, and then pl5 went on to revamp everything to make it more like RB6S or insurgency sandstorm scopes it's pretty cool that scopes in pf will finally see more mainstream use outside of meme setups, also good video steven :]

Here's Stylis Studios introducing useful scopes!!! Finally they are making the scopes useful, I'm soo happy about this because some scopes that weren't sniper scopes like the swarovski are ugly and give you a diadvantage. I will finally be able to use the built-in scope of my beloved Aug A1 :D. Thank you soo much for the video Steven 😄, the devs knew that you were making a video about the ugly scopes of PF lol.

My only problem is the way they made this effect possible. What Styli’s probably did was only keep the front of the sight visible when aiming in and making the parts like the actual inside of the scope invisible. This results in being able to the part of the gun that the scope is placed on which you should not be able to see. The scopes are still not realistic as the whole screen is magnified instead of only the scope optic being magnified. Other than that, keep up the AMAZING work Steven!

Speaking of fixed attachments, Stylis made the halbek device actually good, and if you want a really funny video, slap a halbek device and a chainsaw grip on literally everything. It's surprisingly viable and reduces recoil on guns like the ppsh next to 0.

One bad thing though: the scopes zoom everything if it is a midrange scope, so the point of focusing in on the scope is almost practically useless as you can see more and be more aware of your surroundings. Only plus is sustaining focus and a very slight plus in zoom

I was there when they added them in to the test place and I can confirm half of the server (including myself) lost their minds. The problem in making the interior of the scope model invisible is that the barrel of the gun gets a little on the way. The only way i can think of fixing this, without a different fov for the player model, it to somehow make the gun model invisible through the scope, but i dont even know if thats possible

hey Steven, they changed the zoom level on basically every iron and dot sight - the reflex and kousaku are obsolete, outclassed by the coyote and mini sight (see below) - there are 3 1.00x irons - the kousaku OLED is the new lowest zoom sight at 1.15x - coyote and OKP are 1.5x sights - mini and delta are even lower at 1.2 and 1.3 respectively DL;DR sight meta is dead, embrace the anarchy, become maglite user

This gun isn't really low recoil, but it shreds, and I haven't seen anyone use it in years it 2 taps torso and if I remember right, I think at close Corders in one tap head. there's a learning curve because of its low mussel velocity but its super fun to use and I really do recommend it, if you're bored it's fun to play with and it's really good. setup: MC51 optic: reflex sight barrel/muzzle: close range Ars suppressor / mid/long range Long Barrel grip: Potato/folding (both work nice) Lazer: Personal Choise Ammo: None

also, it is much more realistic as in real life that is how your eyes SHOULD perceives those scopes. we have two eyes, and the image of both eyes are merged together by the brain to eliminate the cylindrical inside of the scope, leaving behind a clear round frame with a magnified view by the scope and the reticle. more FPS devs need to learn about this.

Ngl this is a W update for a game like phantom forces to include optics that function this good, however this could of been added a lot sooner i am a dev my self and what they did to scopes was just a little change and fairly easy to make and i don't see why this wasn't added sooner. Anyway still a great addition to finally see and just a little note, you can see bullet holes or impacts when viewing down the scope(there is a reason for that and its on roblox's fault/engine)

Everything was peaceful untill Recon class began the war. They steam rolled everything with mix of professional, hyperaware snipers and hyper aggressive battle rifle battalions. one thing worth mentioning is that scopes are still just the game lowering the fov of the entire view. I would've like to see just the scope zoomed in and the surroundings still normal, but i understand the performance limitations, and will take this as a good compromise
