Travis Smith was the drummer during this era of Trivium
@Tyler-hr8hj3 жыл бұрын
As much shit as he gets, I don’t think he was a bad drummer. I heard he had problems with staying in time, and would lose rhythm sometimes and I get how that can effect the band as a whole and I’m sure there was more going on behind the scenes but I personally think he did a good job on the albums he was on. Alex will always be the drummer for trivium in my personal opinion though, even with his problems aside he wouldn’t compare to Alex ( again just personal opinion )

Hell yeah, Trivium is always a safe bet to react to, you’ll never get let down with them. Even the songs that aren’t as popular all have something special about them, either lyric message, epic guitar solos or riffs, brutal screams or beautiful cleans, they will keep you on edge wondering what the next song will bring.

Something I find interesting about the Shogun album is that the title and the album cover are Japanese themed... yet the lyrics for a lot of the songs are clearly inspired by Greek mythology (Into The Mouth of Hell We March, Between Scylla & Charybdis, Like Callisto to a Star in Heaven...)
@OrganicOrc2 жыл бұрын
I believe the concept of the album is to explore different "mythos". Those three, and I believe also Of Prometheus and the crucifix are about greek mythology. Kirisute Gomen and Shogun are about the Shogunate and the samurai. The overarching theme seems to be gods, mythology, and so on.
@OrganicOrc3 жыл бұрын
This song is very much about misconceptions of war. It's about how we're made to believe so many wars have been about protecting our countries, our safeties and our freedoms, but how soldiers are actually fed with misleading propaganda and sent to sacrifice themselves for a cause that is nowhere close to being just. "This battle's not the same as they have led us to believe; a synthesis of propaganda, terror and deceit. We are the cattle, they the slaughter, our meat; gasoline. They pump us through the machine's valves to cleanse the world's disease, we are the ammunition that will cause all life to cease."

I wouldn't say that war in unbiblical. In fact, God often raised up warriors to lead armies to fight for God and His people. But there are in fact wars with dark hidden agendas behind them.

@chrismeadows42163 жыл бұрын
This song isn't about war so much as greedy politicians brainwashing people so they can get them to just accept it when they decide to drop bombs. You definitely figured it out. The band's lineup on Shogun was: Matt Heafy - guitar, vocals Corey Beaulieu - guitar Paolo Gregoletto - bass guitar Travis Smith - drums Matt's guitar here was his signature model that he only used during this album cycle; the Dean MKH Rising Sun. Absolutely beautiful, but Matt snapped the neck and Dean wouldn't replace it for free, so Trivium cut ties and switched to Epiphone.

"It's non biblical"? Clearly a man that has never read the Bible. God has not only ordered his chosen to war several times, but is guilty of what we would consider war crimes (and guilty of ordering others to commit them)
@enriib48202 жыл бұрын
Oh so you’re putting god on trial now? How arrogant of you. Easy to judge the past through current times. We have evolved and we learn from the lessons of the past not cast judgment that is a waste of time.
@shannonlouden34282 жыл бұрын
@@enriib4820 you can't put on trial an entity that doesn't exist. However, God supposedly had no problem telling his people not to kill, but not to rape or enslave others. It's not arrogance to judge an entity by it's own rules, which god has also violated. Arrogance is thinking your way is the only way.

My man… I know this is your channel and all, but if there’s one thing I CANNOT STAND is the constant pausing. As a watcher of reactions, I want to take the journey with you. When there’s a big and tasty part of the song that’s about to drop and you pause it to talk for a full minute, you miss out on the pure juiciness of that part. It’s just something that drives me nuts and I may be alone in this. You’re just robbing yourself of some really good “reactions” like facial expressions when you do this. That’s what your viewers tune in to see because most of us know these songs. We get a thrill off of watching your facial expressions change throughout the song. I don’t mean any disrespect, all love, just something to think about.
