I've just watched both of your MV reaction videos and I have to say you're very good at reading all the cues and references! If you'd like a quick summary of their storyline I can help with that. First of all, their albums are divided into 3 series so far. The first one, Treasure, established the pirate concept and the themes of a journey, togetherness, fighting obstacles on their way and striving to reach their goal. Storyline-wise, some of it was more of an exposition and we're pretty sure it wasn't linear/chronological. Pirate King and Treasure from the debut album don't show any story and my personal theory is that the Ateez we see there are from a later part of their saga we haven't reached yet. Say My Name and Hala Hala (the 1st comeback) are the introduction to the plot but kind of in the middle of it, they're set in the dystopian reality you've seen in Guerrilla and show Ateez darker counterparts but don't explain any context (that's why everyone watching it then was convinced Halateez are villains). Then there was the 2nd comeback with Illusion and Wave which IMHO are set in the past and/or are dreams of "our" Ateez, then the next one with Wonderland, which IMHO shows Halateez in their world, also in the past with some dream elements. The series ended with Answer that showed us both teams sitting at the same table (so the location wasn't only for aesthetics ;)), finally confirming that Ateez and Halateez are allies (and the man in white at the beginning and at the end is one of the villains chasing them). After Answer there's a bit of a time skip and the story picks up in The World EP 1: Movement with Guerilla and the rest of the album, since all the songs are a part of the story (and the linking teaser at the end of the Answer MV is from Sector 1 from that album - it doesn't have an MV but they performed it at music shows). Before they released the 1st album of The World series though they went back in time to the origins of the story with the Fever series, centred around the theme of youth. They released Diary Film, sort of an extended trailer which showed teenage Ateez becoming friends and then being broken up, and Hongjoong being visited by Hala!Hongjoong in a dream and being given the Cromer, the hourglass with the power to allow multi-dimensional and time travel and communication through dreams. The majority of the story in that series is explained in the Diary versions of albums with the MVs illustrating it. Basically, Halateez needed Ateez to help them because they were being chased and then imprisoned by the oppressive government that banned emotions and art, put chips in people's heads, indoctrinated kids in Prestige Academy, would deprive people of memories and steal their life force and disperse gas that might trap you in hallucinations made of your memories (and it seems that the first MV, Inception, shows just that happening to Ateez, while the other one of the pair, Thanxx, might be showing younger Halateez). Ateez are reunited by the Cromer, jump to the Halateez reality, even take their place for a moment, the situation gets messy quickly though, they jump back to our reality but lose Yeosang (that's the scene at the end of Deja Vu) and eventually go back to the Halateez reality to reunite with Yeosang saved by Halateez (as first shown in Say My Name, so we're back to the beginning of the Treasure series) and stay there (as shown in Answer) to start the rebellion we eventually see in Guerrilla (which has 2 trailers explaining the worldbuilding, I recommend watching them). In the meantime, the MVs for Fireworks and Deja Vu both show them in the Halateez world, in hiding (although it's hard to say for sure which version we see when) and Eternal Sunshine most probably is one of the versions in memories/dreams. Don't Stop is Halateez either before or in the future, it's hard to say. You've actually seen quite a big chunk of that story on Kingdom, from the Halateez end - in Wonderland they travelled back in time or to a different dimension to be on a pirate ship, Rhythm Ta happened before that, when they broke into a government vault with banned art to get the Cromer in the first place, and finally in Answer they fought with the masked guys in white (who turned out to be government androids) and saved imprisoned Yeosang. As for their other MVs, they're performance videos, like Aurora or Celebrate, then there are the Japanese ones, Utopia with pretty non-specific imagery and Rocky, a boxing gym AU. The Real is, I'm pretty sure, a standalone anime-style AU, and Turbulence is either a mood vid picking up the theme of youth or it might be showing the very earliest Ateez from the Diary Film again. If you'd like to get to know their personalities I'd recommend watching some of their reality or variety shows. One of my favourites that shows a lot of their interpersonal dynamics is the Treasure Film series from 2019 filmed when they were on a short break in Australia after that stop of their world tour. It's 3 long episodes full of personal and group challenges plus 3 bonus videos kzbin.info/aero/PLrD5An5Z1tbebZuf7PkrdZay4eP9QL2y1 They grew up quite a bit since then, some of them got more mature (Wooyoung), some of them got more relaxed (Hongjoong and Seonghwa) but the basics have stayed similar (that's where that emotional bit of Jongho's comes from).

Maybe now as a joke, but they actually said that at the beginning san used to be the cutest, and they now joke about how he has changed. Hongjoong even said in a interview that when he met san he didn't know someone as pure as him could exist. He has always had that childlike vibe
