Lifelong Oil fan myself, but I'm from out east, in the middle Leaf land. Still, it's stuff like this, and other events in their history, that make me admire the local Edmonton fan base out there. They have a long history of being classy fans, who appreciate and admire effort and heart, over numbers and spotlights. Brown got a little sample of just how much those people know what's going on with their team, and their players. Rock on, Edmonton. 🍻

As a Sabres fan, Thank You Oilers. I was watching this game and they threw the hats for Brown. Before the end of the period they changed Bousard's goal over to Hyman and the hats kept falling for so long that linemen had to hold some of them so the puck could drop. It was a great game for the Oilers. The cool part is how the Oilers and the Sabres have been helping each other out this stretch with wins (not against each other).

Was there. At first it was kind of sarcastic praise but quickly it turned into a genuine praise and the crowd wouldn’t shut up about it. The Caps players on the ice were visibly pissed about the hat throwing. They just wanted to get out of the building and onto the plane. Then they announced the goal reversal to give Hyman the hatty and there was another hat delay. It was perfection. Got the sense that the whole team wanted to demonstrate we were now fully in the McD era by handing the old superstars their lunches in two games back to back. It was glorious
