A nice story. One thing always to think about. The main difference between a Space Ship and a Space Station is it's attached Drive Systems.

No way a plasma shot would defeat kinetic barriers, shields designed to protect against kinetic rounds, two complete different systems
@davidtherwhanger6795 Жыл бұрын
Why not? How exactly are the Kinetic Barriers working?
@JoaoSoares-rs6ec Жыл бұрын
@@davidtherwhanger6795 a shield designed to stop plasma is an electromagnetic field designed to disperse the charged particles, a kinetic barrier is a repulsive field, think of two magnets facing the same poles they repel each other, designed to pull away/stop kinetic rounds. The thing is these would work against plasma, as well.
@davidtherwhanger6795 Жыл бұрын
@@JoaoSoares-rs6ec If Kinetic Barriers work that way then yes they would. However, having Kinetic Barriers work that way would also blind your own sensors. Take Earth's Magnetic Field. It has a force ranging from 25 microTesla to 65 microTesla. For comparison a strong refrigerator magnet has approximately 10,000 microTesla. To actually arrest the momentum of a large solid object moving at a percentage of light speed would take enormous power. So much that no electromagnetic frequency could get thru it. Thus your own sensors that need to see the electromagnetic spectrum to tell you what is around you would be blind. Alternatively the Kinetic Barrier could be a much lower powered charged particle field held around the ship in a magnetic field. This has been described as an electro-static field or armor. As a projectile interacted with the field, the field would detect the point of interaction and be able to discharge several large capacitors of energy to vaporize the projectile, negating much if not all the damage. But weapons like plasma weapons would be able to pass thru with little to no interference. This would take much less power to maintain, and allow sensors to still be functional.

@@JoaoSoares-rs6ec maybe kinetic barrier only stop projectiles travelling above a certain speed like in independence day. The plasma does thermal damage and melt the kinetic barrier system.

Are these read by AI?? The weird pause “point….blank range”

No credits to the author, too. Just plagiarism.
@davidtherwhanger6795 Жыл бұрын
@@BrokenCurtain How do you know the one operating this channel did not also write this story?
@BrokenCurtain Жыл бұрын
@davidtherwhanger6795 Because HFY is a subreddit and there are no links to any stories in the description. If the owner(s) of this channel truly were the authors of these stories, there should be some references to their other works, but instead, the video descriptions and channel info don't provide any meaningful information. The simplest explanation is usually the correct one and in this instance, the simplest explanation is that this channel is operated by someone who steals stories from reddit and uses AI to create a voice-over. The upload frequency and use of AI-generated thumbnails also reeks of fraud.
@davidtherwhanger6795 Жыл бұрын
@@BrokenCurtain Another location where these types of stories are posted does not mean they have to be posted there and referenced on any other site. The post history of this channel may be the only location where the author posts. And thus their other works are listed here. I will buy your last reason though as their upload history is a bit quick for a single author.

You content creators need to stop using AI to narrate stories. If you’re to lazy to use your own voice then stop doing stories and find other content to showcase
