Neuvillette is back on the banner in Genshin version 4.5, and while we have almost no pity, a C1 would be an insane buff for our Catalyst Only account...
But as you know, they call me lucky man...
This is inspired by my own Swords Only playthrough we currently have running on the channel. That account is at a point where we just need to farm domains to further build characters, so with plenty of catalyst-wielding characters on the horizon, it's time to begin this journey as well.

You can stun the shield generator on floor 12 for longer if you hit it with pneuma or ousia after getting rid of its shield you know

This version of the Mek is Ousia aligned, meaning only Pneuma works. And the only Pneuma aligned catalyst is Neuvillette himself, which means he needs to sacrifice the first half. A tip I hear from Zajef is don't immediately use Pneuma when its shield is down. In Neuvillette's case, he can use his burst first and skill later as to extend the duration the shield is down. Because the Mek will do one attack and reshields when it's done, so right before the attack finishes, you can disable it with Pneuma.

*Humble viewer tips for Java the luck* ehehe- (honestly could be pinned coz everyone has tips underneath) 1. In Neuvilette team, you could use mona instead of kokomi coz mona will give him DMG buff not atk buff, and beuvi doesn't need healers, so Charlotte is enough as cryo applicator :D 2. If you find that rizzley has no other team which isn't freeze, u can use him in hyperbloom as a driver XD like yae/ Lisa, kokomi, rizzley, nahida (though not efficient, it's fun to just punch enemies around)

Hyperbloom is just worse than aggravate with the electro/hydro options he has access to in Spells only. On field Yae is the only reliable trigger for hyperbloom and if you on field Yae your hydro app drops significantly meaning less cores generated. With a quicken team though he really ought to be on fielding Yae instead of Nahida for several reasons (higher NA scaling, Yae needs more energy and her burst is very relevant in aggravate). As for the Wriothesley hyperbloom team, it is very scuffed with slow hydro app (all he has access to in this account). He and Wanderer are pretty much dead weight on a catalyst account without constellations as both really want teammates that aren't available here. I've tested every team comp option pretty extensively as I actually started a catalyst only account a few patches before Java and somehow managed to snag the whole catalyst roster in the time since.

It's actually possible. If you make sure to pre cast your abilities before breaking the boss shield, the time that his shield is down will be used to do damage instead of casting your abilities. Combine that with a perfect 1st half clear and you got it!

Well, you are definitely gonna 36 star sometime really soon. SO, if you do create another account, what if you only use characters with natural hair colors like Fischl, Sara, Navia, Childe, etc. You have access to all of the elements so puzzles won’t pose a problem and the amount of characters available is restricted to about 20 percent or less so it can still be challenge.

Hey Java. A tip for Neuvi to get more damage/keep his damage boost longer. If you hold left click for just enough time to start a charged attack with 3 balls to charge it, the circular charge doesn't have to charge for even half a second like how it does now, but instead it'll just charge instantly. Doesn't save a lot of time but it has helped me just be able to get 3 stars in my abyss so maybe it could help you if you want to try it again on the next abyss

The fact that he almost 36 starred abyss with the worst boss to face as spells only, it's kind of obvious that Java will beat the spiral abyss soon enough when the abyss changes to more of a dendro abyss and not geo. For the Terrorshroom boss, knock it out using Pyro, as that just hurts it and immediately stuns it. If you activate it using Electro it becomes buffed and takes some time before becoming stunned very briefly.

nono, I felt you on this one Java, the local legend with the gravity effect was a menace on my account, and i'm a bog standard ass player. Had to spam plunge attacks with Kuki and XQ to break the shield and only had a small window to spam HB. cleared with 1s left. actual pain. limiting a boss to utilize either geo or a claymore is rough

If you have good song of days past artifacts, you can put them on either Barbara or kokomi to increase neuvillette damage a ton

That final chamber is sooo close. To manage that when the chamber has something practically designed against catalyst characters in is pretty impressive. Feels like spellsonly may soon reach its goal. The end is now it sight.

Here are a few tips if you'd like :) First of all that plange crab is weak to pneuma attacks, so if you bring down there neuvilette you can extend the time that thing doesn't have a shield up to dish out more damage. Second of all if you want to play hyperbloom second half, I advise to plange with yae instead of Kokomi. You might think, that by applying more hydro you'll get more seeds, but if you look closely, there are a lot of seeds that aren't turning to hyperblooms, so by jumping with yae, you'll be able to turn them into hyperblooms and do more damage :) Also if you're using freez team with neuvilette on the first half, you do not need em on sucrose, becose of two things: 1. em sharing by her talent doesn't really help freez, cose freez doesn't benefit at all from em 2. You might think, that maybe it helps her swirls, but not really. There's like hidden mechanic, where there is an order in which elements are absorbed and swireld by anemo, it goes like: pyro, electro, hydro, cryo. So unless your sucrose is hit by either pyro or electro, you'll always swirl hydro if it is on enemies. And there is another mechanic related to hydro swirls, which is that those swirls are only one that, doesn't have aoe. Which means they only hit one enemy. Thanks to that, if you'd put on sucrose vv crit build you possibly could dish out more damage in those beginning aoe fights on chamber one Idk if it helps at all, but if you want to improve a bit here's some tips. Btw Java, for the first half of chamber 1 in floor 12, you could try doing sucrose fall damage ( which is easy if u had her burst up, just shred the res of the 2 human enemy) Im not rlly sure about her skill but since it also involves pulling enemies it should work as well but alot harder to do. It probably would operate the same as kazuha's skill fall damage trick(pull enemies from edge of skill + charged atk) Basically ur able to hit fall damage from 10k-40k depending on ur ability and luck, and shortens the abyss time by half

!!!! LIKE THIS COMMENT SO JAVA CAN SEE IT!!! I really struggled with the last floor as well, and so the only way I could manage to quickly beat it was to use an Overload team. Since catalysts don't break the shield fast enough with plunge, use Ninguangg for the shield break. Give her Sac Frag so she can deploy her geo skills faster too (her default normal attack goes slower). Overload can also shred geo shields to smithereens, provided that your characters have decent damage. I was able to 36 star the abyss for the very first time using this strategy, hope this helps!!

Luck Man, there isn’t really a point is using both Kokomi and Charlotte with Neuvi, not only is it overkill but he self sustains very well, even moreso when he’s at C1. Replacing Kokomi with Mona or Charlotte with someone else would bring you more damage without hurting your sustain much Just my two cents, if you’re more comfortable with double (triple?) sustain then your team is good Edit: Nvm you did end up using Mona in that team lol

Java !! Not sure if it helps much, but for wriothesley, his charge attacks do the same amount of shield breakage as claymore characters on normal hits, so maybe he could help a little with a frozen salad team on the second half ovo)b Hope this helps !!

for abyss 12-3 after the construct shield is down, you can disable the construct with either neuvillette or charlotte's pneuma attack to have more time to deal damage to it (before the shield goes back up again)

Hey mr java you did a good job with the abyss but you couldnt clear because of your wrong team comp . use nahida first half and also bring a unit to kill the dendro spectre . use nuevi on second half to kill the mech thing and this is how you do it , use ning on petra and break the shield then use supports and CA on nuevi after one CA use skill to apply pnuema which will give you extra time before he gets his shield up also baizhu is really good with him for the shields
