It’s probably why nobles are the ones who commonly have magic. It isn’t genetic, rather dietary. Nobles have the money to eat a crap ton of calories while commoners ether need an abundance of cheap/grown food. The commoners are ether have average talent but behind nobles due to the calories needed to practice or a natural talent that grows rapidly once they get to school due to previously rationing their power effectively.

I am just at the early part of the video but why do you make your character fat and quickly make him thin. I have a gripe with stories which introduce certain element just to eliminate them in the most boring way. I enjoy stories that entertain ideas which aren't obvious. Also what's up with trying to make their characters japanese when they are in a fantasy European certain. I will be pissed if he starts using a katana. Don't take my takes too seriously, just saying

They made him fat to start because it is a way to put a level of weight on the character's backstory, because fat people are said to have bad or no magic. They changed that to show that the problem can be overcome and likely someone else will have that problem. A bit longer fat would have helped that to be fair. We have been conditioned to make fantasy worlds European by countless tales by writers of great renown who are European or admire the esthetic.But being japanese made they have to put their spin on it, the same way American's have this way of shoving their culture into stories like this by making character's curse in their slang and not European slang.
