yeah, but back in 2017 I remember how hard it was to vote for them on mama. I remember getting so nervous and waking up at 5 am to vote for them with my 7 accounts before getting ready for school lmao. 2017 was a massive break out of BTS's popularity in the west but there were still not that much international fans who knows how to vote on MAMA. I was so glad when they won the award for the second time that year and now they're winning it 5 years in a row and they'll continue to win every awards! it's blowing my mind how huge BTS is now! I'm so proud of them.

This is my favorite live performance of Mic Drop, very iconic. If you've seen the fan taped reactions of the idol section, Cipher 4 and Mic Drop got visible reactions from other idols at the show. I think there is a Bangtan Bomb that shows the dancing at the end of Mic Drop, it is so impressive how hard they were still going when they had to be exhausted.

I still remember the very moment i saw BTS's MAMA 2017 performance--their first performance in Korea after performing at the AMAs. At this time, there were STILL so many koreans / other fandoms / ignorant or xenophobic general public who: 1. were confused at BTS's "sudden success" which they felt like came out of no where. It wasn’t “wow! This is Amazing! How did this happen?” It was like “um, wtf why ...them??” 2. mocked BTS for going to the U.S. and being a "sell-out" and now “focusing on international $$$” 3. downplayed their U.S. debut as just another kpop phenomenon & phase that will die down 4. and of course.. straight up talked sh*t about their looks, music, career, and just the simple fact that they aren't white -_- Not that they ever do music and performances just to show off or prove a point, but oh boy, this literally blew everyone out of the water and proved that their talent & professionalism are 100000 levels ahead. This setlist is literally perfect...singing DNA the 1st song that they performed in the U.S., followed by cypher 4 (saying we're so unphased about the haters & we love ourselves), and then finishing off with the most amazing remix of Mic Drop (where they purposely chose to sing the english version lol). Such a freaking tiring setlist but they pushed themselves to the limit...as they always do to give the best performances. I admire their trust in each other and their unwavering love & passion for music..

I've watched their award shows before, but it never clicked to me how much of an additional BURN it was to sing Cypher pt4 and Mic Drop in there. 21:19 yeah they were very very tired, they almost fainted after the performance. Armys saw how the members were holding the wall for support back stage and Jungkook took a lot of time back stage too after the performance. The members gave it their best that night and Armys were worried seeing them like that but they all still went up on stage drenched with sweat to receive their Daesang ARTIST OF THE YEAR for the second time consecutively and of course they said such a heartfelt speech for ARMYs as they always do. I'm so proud of what they've achieved now, they literally deserve all success.

I can't remember exactly but I think I saw a fancam of this performance from more of a side angle. It seemed like in the intro they were not in front of a screen but actually behind it. It was like a sheet so things were projected on it but it was transparent enough to be able to see through it and see bts behind which is why it looked like some of the effects on the intro were in front of them. When Not Today starts you can actually see the sheet drop to reveal bts. I hope this makes sense. (Idol came out towards the end of 2018 by the way)
