My breakdown of Game 1: Why did Team Infernus throw away such an easy victory by trying to constantly door snipe the heavily protected, top-heavy laser+cannon tower instead of disconnecting Krieg's second base and undermining his main base? The buzzsaws that killed Krieg's partner could have easily disconnected the two bases and forced him to over-invest into defense, which is perpetually frustrating at the best of times, nevermind when it's 2vs1. Keeping him from getting too much value from the five extra mines alone should have been a priority. Nevermind the madness of letting him operate a freaking howitzer unchallenged for several minutes, and eventually resorting to inefficienctly spamming cannon rounds to stop the attacks. This is further exacerbated by failing to punish Krieg for building his main base so incredibly top-heavy. You can see by the 15 minute mark that Krieg's top base has high stress indicators on his rear foundation, and that's not even as hard as he pushes it. ANY significant amount of shock via deformation would just spelled GG right then and there. Instead, we see....20mm cannon spam vs heavy padding...huh?? They change over to cannons and later cannon+rockets after this, and for a brief period (20 - 23 minutes) you see Team Infernus finally doing what they should have been doing for the prior 15 minutes and NEARLY shut down Krieg's brutal offense completely. This isn't to undermine Krieg's accomplishments; quite the contrary, he did an excellent job juggling his opponents' offense and counter-attacking smartly in a 2vs1. I cannot overstate how stressful that is and he absolutely earned his victory. And all of what I'm saying here is with the benefit of hindsight. Not so easy to do when you're in the hot seat. Lesson: When you correctly punish greedy plays to create a 2vs1, don't let your opponent recover from their team's sudden economic disadvantage too freely. Apply constant pressure to capitalize on your team's APM advantage rather than just going for the throat. The more energy he has to spend on gunners and metal to stop your buzzsaws and rockets, the harder it is for him to use his main weapons. And don't neglect internal mechanics! Stress points don't necessarily have to be hit directly to be destroyed.

honestly team 2's biggest mistake was not building AA against that howi. krieg couldn't have held map control against 2 players, they would have been able to easily shut down the most devastating aspect of krieg's firepower

If I have a major APM advantage, I'm building anti-air the moment I identify that mortar because I know you won't be able to manage defending AND sniping my AAs, AND door sniping my big guns without being a literal god of RTSs. Frankly, if Infernus were constantly disconnecting the lower base and pressuring it, the howi would have turned into a major liability instead of the game-ending threat it became.

Apm should always be the focus of 2v1, honestly i'd believe team 2 could have won if bot base just focused on sniping, using buzzsaws and mortars and stuff, constantly placing aa and having to reconnect would have been the death of kreig, and while the match was stressful, i would have to say the game wasn't that hard, Kreig didnt take all that much damage other than doorsnipes and damage to turbines
