If you ever find yourself controlling 1 or more Screaming Nemesis with this deck, remember that you can turn Ill-Timed Explosion into a nuke if you discard a Room to deal 7 to them. I have a deck built around copying Nemesis and then discarding a big room to Ill-Timed to one-shot my opponent. At 41:50 when they had nothing left in hand, you could have double copied Nemesis and nuked them for 21 damage.

An often overlooked or forgotten about ability of Braided net is that it taps nonland permanents, turning off their activated abilities. Great for Planeswalkers (Just remember to put a stop at Op's upkeep). It can also turn off Leyline axe if its unequipped you can keep tapping it down stopping it from being able to be equipped (by paying mana that talent that just puts it on a creature will still work).

@@beleagueredbeluga5228 No (Gideon and Kaito both can attack and will be tapped and still be useable.) However the Net specifically says, tap another target nonland permanent "Its activated abilities can't be activated." So tap a Planeswalker with the Braided Net and it turns it off. Set a stop at the Op upkeep and tap it before they get a chance to use it.

It does not counter already activated abilities however and when a planeswalker lands the player that played it will get priority so planewalkers get one activation even if a net is on the field..

Wizards needs to implement a "short rope queue" that you can opt into that gives you a significantly shorter time to make your plays. Then match you up against others in the short rope queue preferentially. When two people in the short rope queue match both get a short rope, when you match with someone not in the short rope queue then you both get normal ropes.

that would lead to ppl manipulating the ropes further... currently you can lag yourself out disconnect then immediately restart the arena client this leaves your opponent disconnected but then by the time you realize its been disconnected your rope runs out and by the time you load back in your time outs have ran out and the game has conceded for you....its bs especially in drafts it happens alot more frequently bc ppl are just try to win gems

This deck is absolutely glorious! Great job, and genius idea with those nets! I'm such a memer I might actually have all of these cards and I'm gonna try it. Although I think I'll go Dimir first and see what happens, just to pack demo fields and lean a bit more heavily on discard and lockout with Quandary.

At 43:12 you actually missed another burn spell. You where still in danger that whole time but luck was on your side. You had another cover up and I was dreading a burst lightning at the last minute. Glad luck was on your side!😂

40:44 u missed here: replication on nemesis, attack, 11 life. Then Explosion discarding replication: he has to use his lighting strike to not die, protecting you. Then repeat next turn and win

I could play this deck in unranked and still lose 75% of the games. I would not see my fourth land until turn ten, and every opponent would have enchantment and artifact removal.

I'd love to see the Sultai version you came up with. When I see a bunch of big clunky enchantments that will get you killed if you take a turn off to cast them, I think Genesis Wave so you can try to get them all down at the same time. From there, it's just a matter of picking which Ramp package you want to use.

Only a question....when you discard with Ill time Explosion" a Virtue....does make 7 or 9 damage? Hence killing Valgavoth...??? The Last Opponent could have drawn also the Burst to kill you

Virtue would do 7 damage. It's the split cards that add both.

Last game you could have won 2 turns earlier. At 44:20 animate riff and attack for 7 and cast Ill timed Explosion discarding a 3+ maba value card and trigger Nemesis for lethal

Split cards, that are not on the stack, count both sides to determine mana value. Those explosions can do 9 to everything if you drop a virtue of persistence to them. When cast, the rules only recognize the cast half.

I would seriously record another video for this deck instead of posting this one. You didnt get to play quandry at all except the first game; they all conceded well before that; which means you've been just controlling the field and they could not keep up with that. I would have loved to watch people get locked. I understand you dont recommend the deck, but it'd be nice if you could actually showcase a bit more in a 40min video.
