Like one commenter mentioned before, Kurapika and Leorio aren't necessarily dropped from the series. Currently, the manga is heavily focused on Kurapika and Leorio, especially Kurapika. To the point, some fans say he is the MC now. Some might also say Chairman arc is the last arc that Gon and Killua are the predominant focus. I hope the Dark Continent Expedition and Succession Contest arcs are animated someday so the React Pack can witness its dopeness.

I hope they change the direction of the manga a bit. By that I mean they shouldn't have to tell us everything through narration or minutes-long monologues. I saw a few pages from the manga and God, that was more like a novel with a few small boxes that had a rough sketch.

@@rexibhazoboa7097 The problem is that the current arc has Kurapika acting as detective, basically. And, when he's not the focus, we're seeing a bunch of different people conspiring against each other. So it's A LOT of thinking. So I don't know if it's even viable to change that

@@rexibhazoboa7097 But if you didn't read it how do you know the direction T-T The HxH manga has always been a novel, the anime is just engaging enough - for most people, my sibling is having a hard time getting through Heaven's Arena - that you don't mind how much thinking, monologuing, and explaining there is (so for me the current manga arc is actually my favourite, but I also used to read novels and I know some people just can't get into something that's just words, just saying it's not really a different direction for the series)

They never dropped Kurapika and Leorio, as Kurapika became the main main character in the manga almost from the chapter immediately following episode 148. And Leorio is there as well whereas Gon and Killua haven't been in the manga at all since 2014. However HXH has had many characters acting as main or supporting in the manga post anime ending, with Kurapika being sort of the new Gon even when other characters take center stage.

Gon and Killua's friendships has been the backbone for the series for a long time, and while they are a great dynamic duo. I think them separating for a bit, and doing their own thing, well be good for them. Still, the goodbye was very bittersweet. But I believe they will meet again.

So to recap from what I believe, the Koala shot the girl and then her body is made into food for the queen and consumed her, around that time is when Kite's ability activates so he reincarnates as a baby inside the queen, not only she is now part ant with all the upsides of being a chimera, her physical form looks like a normal human (so she is a chimera disguised as human or a hybrid of both, silly me she is a chimera anyway). Togashi deliberately turn Kite into a girl so that maybe in the future she could breed since she is a chimera ant. If Kite able to retain her old Nen abilities, then it is now on another level since the Nen already experience death and rebirth, what makes her even better is that she can now learn another ability since she is part ant now.

I like that they get to spend some time growing separately, as sad as it is. Gon as awesome as he is can be a little too much at times, and killua needs to make up for that lost time with his sister.

Well, they did not forget Leorio and Kurapika, the manga continues on with them and you barely see gon and killua, in one or two pages, even killua's siblings have more content...

so, the little girls soul was freed instead of being reincarnated into an ant. thats koala man is happy and hopeful about. kites special number is an ability that only comes up when hes determined not to die so thats likely why he didnt just pass on. its probably a soul transfer. kite looks like that little girl because the chimera ants take physiscal qualities of who they eat and the little girl absolutely was eaten. since her soul was freed though, kite took the place of that body that was growing directly in the queens womb. also, killua and gon needed time apart because of how gon treated killua and what he said to him. thats exactly why killua makes sure to bring it up. it hurt him deeply. but killua now has his little sister to take care of. shes not a drag. shes also not priority number two or anything lower. gon and killua didnt fall out of being friends. killua genuinely wants to spend his time with his little sister and definitely has to protect her, less she be used and or killed. gons also completed his story and journey completely. he would only be tagging along with alluka and killua if they stayed together and those two need actual family bonding time after being separated for SO many years. in most situations that would be called third wheeling if a third person came along when the time spent between two people is meant to be about them and not open for a group. gon and killua will come back together later on once alluka has enjoyed her time with him and gon has matured and grown. which he NEEDS because he is in fact still a child and a more emotionally immature than most one at that. but thats their plan and theyre happy to join back together later on. theyre just sad because of how things played out because of the tragedy and stress of that whole arch. gon was a real jerk then so of course they need some time apart.

Well said, a lot of people gloss over this fact that Gon mistreats Killua in CA arc, and furthermore throughout the whole series. An avid rewatcher, or someone like Im from FilmBuff, will catch a lot of “abuse” throughout the show with Gon just kind of assuming Killua will help him because he knows they’re gonna be attached at the hip. It’s probably unintentional but it’s still a point of immaturity where he needs to grow so he doesn’t hurt Killua, or another loved one again.

Great take. I also wont be surprised that KILLUA also trains with ALLUKA and learns other abilities of hers. I wont be surprised is GING has hack or way to train GON and get his nen back. Obviously some wishful thinking but they definitely need a good 10yr time skip. TOGASHI has some great content here but man his not writing anything new yet unfortunately.

@@matt9618 Okay chill, I'm one of the biggest proponants of Gon being a lot more fucked up and a deeper character than most people see him as but "abuse" is WAY too far of word to be anywhere near even the worst stuff Gon has done, Gon has been a constant shining light for Killua saving him from a terrible life path he had almost no chance of avoiding, but at the end of the day Gon is a child, putting on him a mountain of stress, anger, guilt and responsibilty, the explosive reaction is understandable and even then it's just friends having a falling out and making up, it happens, Killua is my guy but the boy is damn near a serial killer lets bring it down a notch.

the manga still continues to this day but the show ends with the next episode. to the comment that they dropped kurapika. the current manga events focus heavily on his journey.

I think Kite does retain his abilities just as much as he retains his memories. Think of him as the same as Palm who was modified to retain her memories. The difference is that Kite was reborn with those memories while Palm is modified. And if Palm still has her ability to watch over a target (just enhanced) but had additional abilities, Kite might be the same.

They part because they're clearly not in perfect terms, but they'd rather separate for a while than to weight on each other. I think it's good they take some time to heal and process everything that happened, like, Gon practically gave up on his life and wasn't expecting to come back, I wouldn't expect children to be able to address such heavy topics right away ahah. I'm part of the team that believes they'll meet again later in the story because of how that separation is depicted (especially in the manga, where it brought less closure than how it went in the show)

Killua put a distance and Gon understand why. Imagine having bestfriend and after a while you realized that he has someone more important than you, and started to show his ugly side when he has problem (This is Killua POV by the way). Killua can't taking care of Gon forever, and he finally has someone more important than Gon. It's like you have a family member you care much but can't do anything to change their bad behavior so you put distance telling "You can do whatever you want but i won't clean up every of your own mess, except it's necessary. You should grow up and finish your problem yourself, don't depends on me anymore" Killua choose the best decision ever in his life and Gon just accept it as lesson to care more for his friends in any situation.

Or they have a bond beyond friendship. Damn I sound like those shippers but hear me out, Gon and Killua even thanked each other during the start of Greed Island when no such incident happened between them. In fact, in that scene Killua didn't word this "thanks" out because subconsciously he was still obliged to Gon for helping him. But now that Killua has symbolically returned the favour by healing him, there are equals. Again proved by the fact that Killua has got an objective beyond Gon, showing that he is no more putting Gon on the pedestal. Rather they are equal now and with the last bit of thanks, this is the start of their true equal friendship (and would be that way since Killua has gained self worth and Gon won't repeat the same mistakes by losing himself to his emotions).
