The central banks and the UN are targeting Manga and Anime. And they are winning. Video games will be next. Several art websites forced to stop displaying artworks they consider depiction of or are close to CP and any adult content, otherwise making money through credit card companies would be revoked. And earlier this month, shortly after a UN report that Anime and Manga inspires violence against women and children, two Japanese manga websites had their credit card services revoked, one of them shut down soon after. We've got to stop them before they decide to also openly regulate our video games, comics, books, movies, shows, and more. SBI and other DEI groups controlling our favorite media are bad, but UN control will be so much worse unless we get off our asses, unite and stop them now!

Games "journalism" becomes very sinister when you look at how many of these "journalists" end up getting jobs at big studios. The whole industry is just cronyism. God, I miss that magazine... I know some like to label it "biased" towards Nintendo, but of course it is. And frankly it has fair reviews, promoted many third-party games, and helped popularize indie games like Shantae. And most of all, they only talked about games, and game related products. (Their mock parody review of Pokemon cereal and Pop-tarts being done like their video game reviews was pretty funny.) And in fairness, some of their reviewers gave some first party Nintendo games mediocre scores like Super Mario Advance, and "Wario Master of Disguise," so they didn't love every Nintendo game either.

Nintendo Power by Nintendo of America. Every criticism lady Decade made is way more true of them. The reality is the writing at Nintendo power was good, funny and interesting. Their audience was kids and Nintendo fans, so it was also easier to write. The current issues with the gaming press maybe tied to their corporate structure, but not inherently so.

I'd noticed the growing disconnect between IGN reviews and other sites well over a decade ago, back where there still was independent game journalism. After years of administrations rubberstamping corporate mergers and buyouts, the lot is one giant corporate dumpster fire. The issue of corporate consolidation is bigger than just game journalism, or even "news" media in general. The same issues have plagued all major industries, for the exact same reasons. Administrations have been rubberstamping corporate mergers and buyouts for _decades_ with few conditions that are almost never enforced. The rare lawsuit at best gets a pinky-swear that'll behave and token fine that's insignificant compared to the billions raked in by breaking the agreements.

First, with written media (how many terrible games got higher scores from Nintendo Power?), and then with online media. Now, with KZbin and other platforms where people can freely share their opinions, it's easier to notice when bad games receive undeservedly high scores. Back in the day, we used to make fun of these reviews on forums and just shrug it off.

Trouble is these big media conglomerates are now writing fake user reviews in an attempt to change the negative review score to a positive one or as has been discussed voting down the entry of an independent game in Game Awards in favor of a game so bad no one is actually playing it and yet that game will most likely be the one to win the awards. I stopped reading critic reviews back in the 90's for movies when it became evident that certain movies got good reviews while other good movies were panned, despite being a good movie. It was then I decided I would make up my own mind as to whether or not a movie, or game in this case was good or not. Although I do a fair bit of research first. I realized even before the biased reporting became an epidemic that critics and reviewers did not speak for me, they spoke either based on their own bias towards something or the bias directed to them by their employers, often looking for the smallest thing to critique and not focus on what was actually good. So now I think for myself and have done for decades. I too am biased, I ill will tell friends that I do or don't like something but I always finish by saying, that is just my opinion and you should see for yourself and make up your own mind, although i do outline the reasons why I like/dislike something.

It gets on my fucking nerves honestly. I’m imagining a world where highly praised indie/AA games as well as superior Japanese made software are all over big city screens whereas bland AAA games are left out to be forgotten. It makes me happy triple A games are failing because of it. Not all are bad mind you, take Nintendo for instance. AAA games need to take bigger risks and try to innovate once in a while. For the longest time, I didn’t know what safe or risk taking meant when it comes to entertainment until prior research.

The thing about gaming review are that nobody is correct. A review is down to the opinion of the review writer - there could be writers that love a certain game and writers that hate it. Neither view is incorrect as they are both based on opinions. The best and cleanest way to gage a games quality is honestly to try it for yourself. A review based on subjective opinion can and should never be taken as gospel truth.

I love watching gaming videos by smart people! Thanks for not being afraid to say what you think!

Good job shining a light onto the dark corners, but to what end? It has been more than a decade that gameurinals have been utterly useless corpo mouthpieces that hand out 7s, 8s and 9s for everything their corporate overlords command them to and only recently has this been broken to some degree and ONLY to some degree, otherwise Failguard would have bombed even harder, but lets face it, the vast majority are casual gamers who switch on their console in the evening after work, probably on easy mode, maybe normal difficulty and want to be entertained for an hour or two instead of watching a movie and boy do I wish those plebs would go back to passive entertainment when they're too lazy to learn to play and then complain "game is too hard" while oldschool gamers have to rely on modding more often than not to up the ante for a challenge. Gaming becoming mainstream wasn't purely a good thing.

I stoped looking at game journalist review ages ago, because can just watch gameplay on KZbin. Meaning that game journalists and their job is pointless this days. Sense can get information else where that is not one sided. Than the game journalist got hijacked at some point by political demagogs, that does not play games, does not like games, thus the reason you see game journalists fail to beat games tutorials, that they attack games that does not fitt their world view, gamers are ist and phobes when their slop does not make money. The best example on this is games that are pure propaganda being pushed up as best sellers, but just looking at the numbers, the games in question have a hard time braking even. They end up making a game that is so abysmal it does not earn the money put into the prodject. This problem with the bottom line that is the game makers, they are trying to push a narative, same goes for the game journalists, it is not an isolated event, media in general has this problem. Anything from the news to film, shows, games reviews. If it only was the odd game, I can just say: Ok, moving on. But that they try to make every single game and game journalist site into a propaganda pushing platform is kind of a pain in the neck. I almost forgot, game awards are just as bad as game journalists.

Well that's just it. I don't trust news media outlets here in America anymore. I don't trust ads from magazines or reviews about movies, for example. Usually what happens is I watch or read so called reviews that say a movie sucks and more often than not that's when I know I'm going to like it.... at least from the 1980's. 1990's and early 2000's. Nowadays all I look for is Woke reviews. If it's Woke I don't touch it or go anywhere near it. Video games, music, and all other sorts of media are under the control of big companies where consumer reviews are being taken down for the simple fact that these companies want to sell their garbage without anyone saying anything negative about them. Patience is a virtue, and so I wait to SEE commentators from private sites and see what they have to say. Of course the company is going to tell you whatever they are selling is the greatest thing since sliced bread. That's not what I'm looking for.... at all. I wait.... and all of you should do the same. Don't buy what you really know nothing about outside of the company selling the product. WAIT. WAIT. WAIT. There's always a sucker willing to buy said product and then being angry online saying the product sucks. WAIT. Wait for other people to buy on "launch" day and THEN watch their reviews. Patience, man. Ya'll need to learn that. It's the greatest gift of wisdom when it comes to the consumer market.

Remember these "jurnalists" have pretty nasty stuff in their hard drives.

Nothing bothers these people more than the truth. And it's not just a problem for gaming. It's an issue with every part of society now.
