The samples load gradually, so yes they simulated the drummer schlepping the kit in piece by piece while everybody else is already playing

the factory content of SD3 was recorded so professionally, the mics in the right spot, phase is all aligned correctly, you don't even need EQ on the raw samples, and when you do process the samples they ring and pop like crazy because the frequencies are all so balanced, mic placement is the most important aspect of sample quality

I built a kit that is mostly that Pearl Masterworks kit with a ludwig snare. added EQ, Comp, Reverb, a sub kick, and the analog tape on parts of the kit. Ive never gotten a drum sound so good.

I kinda wish they would make the core app $100 with 1 basic kit and then just charge you for add ons. Every vsti drum app I ever use I have maybe 2 kits I'll use with any frequency and 100GB of samples I'll never use.

Hello I have a question. These very heavy samples are they full drums patterns used by guitarists or are they more snare , cymbals sounds ? Because i am a drummer and will be using SD3 through my Roland TD11 module, i don't need pre-made drums patterns at all. Thanks if you can answer.

I had SD2, but the extra drumkits and the EZ drummer like sequenser functionality made me upgrade to SD3.

Let's vote BFD3 or Superior Drummer 3? BFD3 has 575gb library and you can create your own drums from wav samples; Superior Drummer also comes with 300gb and it looks sexier than BFD3, both have groove modules. which one do you prefer?

Bless you. Anyway, I just got Perfect Drums from Naughty Seal Audio and it's so good too, really easy to use and a gorgeous interface. Your video on it was a heavy influence that helped me decide to buy it. They just had an upgrade and added a ton of new stuff too. I have always been intimidated by superior drummer and this looks kind of intense and more indepth/professional.

Bless you. (for sneezing, not just because you're such a cool guy). I love Sup Drummer. I used to mess around with drums back in the day. Okay, flash forward a bunch of years, and I suck at drums (ESPECIALLY metal genre). Bought a Roland kit, paid a fairly decent amount for a pretty good kit, and my timing just isn't good enough - practicing my ass off to get better, but for now, Sup Drummer enables me to be able to create music (some may call it something else) with drum tracks I could never play on my own. Great video as always Ola! PS - I need to get one of those db levels! Bad ass! :)

The sound is great and I am sure I will soon upgrade from SD2 to SD3. But one thing I think has to be considered and may take off some of the great upgrades in SD3, which is the internal mixer. Sure it makes the set sound "play-ready" and gives you directly the feeling it fits great to your mix. But in fact it does not. Since guitars, vocals, other stuff in your DAW tracks cannot interact with SD3's mixer, it will be two isolated environments when it comes to ambience, reverb etc. So if SD3 gives a nice room, your DAW will not make any use of it. That's why I think it will become more difficult and perhaps less good sounding from the start, if you choose to route the SD3 drums directly to your DAW (perhaps using some ambience mics but not more). In my productions I'm using one room verb for all the tracks which shall have a room ambience. If I'd use all single room efx from every plug (like SD3) then I hear it is not merged together. Not saying SD3 is not delivering a great soundset but you may get blended by the internal mix settings. If you go dry out, then the challenge is in your DAW and with your skill
