In a slightly alternative universe this would have been the evolution of the Kobe line and Nike would still have a (bigger) stranglehold on the performance market. Getting greedy and not offering interchangeable midsoles was such a huge miss and I'm really happy SPO stepped in and gave us what we were wanting for an entire decade
@kristophergoad2135Күн бұрын
THIS!!! Nike just left the door wide open.....for greed.

And they dont even need so much "innovation". Zoom air or even max zoom is years, even decades old tech which still is one of the best setups for basketball on the market. A nice soft foam, a full length zoom strobel and ANY kind of shank and voila you get a 9.5/10 ride. But no Nike chooses to cheap out its customers and saves on a 2$ air bag per shoe. I switched to way of wade, let that ship sink.

@WearTesters I'm glad there's a whole archive of knowledge available. I love shoes as a sports fan who grew up in the 90s. The tech and stories and what went into the design fascinates me. And Weartesters is the absolute GOAT for knowledge about sneakers. Us OGs appreciate Weartesters more than you'll ever know 💪🏼

So the light in "light version" isn't actually about weight, the shoe was made more for younger players or female players or player with less strength, so materials like carbon fibre are changed to plastic and upper is also softer. It's more like a lite rather than light.

Another🔥review! This shoe is highly underrated. I picked up the Player One Plus 313 on sale and the original insole really feels comfortable and protects my feet. The rubber outsole is noticeably better on dusty indoor courts. I will definitely pick up another pair and a different colorway if and when they go on sale again. I feel the $180 price point is a bit high and should be more on the $125 range...imho I like the flywire and definitely a fun shoe to play in. I will definitely test out the Player One Lie edition when they launch in February. Marvel & DC Amalgom was very cool! It's about time that Marvel & DC brought this back with updated characters.

SPO putting out even more options for the consumer. Gotta appreciate that. I will say that the Player 1 Plus was already pretty damn light imo…not sure if this model is totally necessary, even with a moderately cheaper price. I’m more excited about the Quick 2.0 midsole tbh…and what’s so great about my Game 1s and Player 1 plus’s is that the outsoles are tough as hell to where they’ll last long enough to see these newer midsoles that pop up.

QOTD: I haven't heard of it. Good god, whichever of the Chinese brands gets themself a good logo first is going to have a big leg up on the others. If I was playing today, these wouldn't be for me--the drawback of drop-in midsoles is that they aren't compatible with custom (or off-the-rack) orthotics. But I like what SPO is doing in making their drop-in midsole systems the identity of their brand. It's a focused concept, which is a good plan for a small brand in a packed, competitive market. Thanks for the review! One heavy thumbs up for the algorithm, and I'll see you next time.
@anthonyplanzo1082Күн бұрын
It's crazy to me how the big brands pay so little attention to the midsoles. For the most part anyway. Imo it's one of the key parts of a shoe.

That new atpu foam is intriguing! This brand is really doing some really cool stuff! As for the question of the day, agreed. As a kid, the big 2 crossover was great but the story was not the greatest…so glad you mentioned the amalgam series! That was wild! I’m a fan of crossovers ever since I was a kid….doesn’t matter if it’s comics or tv. The Batman x TMNT crossover was dope…even in animation. I am still hoping they do a Batman x Spawn animated feature. Jason Ackles does a good Batman/bruce….(unfortunately I can’t get my real wish in Kevin Conroy…the one and only Batman) and the legend Keith David is still around to reprise his role as Spawn!

@jackc5444Күн бұрын
The whole point of a drop in midsole is so that your sock sticks to the rubbery texture so your foot doesn't slide and hit the sidewall while you're cutting, giving you a reaction and stability advantage. Putting a layer of cloth on top is retarded because it cancels out that function. But hey, cater to the mediocre masses for profit.
