Some Minecart buff ideas: Minecart Additions: ----------- Coal Engine: Click onto minecart to attach. Right-click to view ui. Stores up to 64 Coal/Charcoal. Minecart will move 2x speed for 4 seconds per coal. Chain: Click on the first minecart, then click to a nearby cart to connect them Arrow Launcher: Click onto minecart to attach. Right-click to view ui. Stores up to 4 stacks of arrows. When in cart, right-click to launch arrow. Can attach one on each direction. Torch Attachment: Attaches a torch onto a minecart by clicking to attach. Torch attachment costs 1 torch and 3 iron Steering Wheel: Click to attach onto minecart. Allows speed and directions to be controlled by the player using WASD Rail Attacher: Click on to minecart to attach. Right-click to open its storage. Can hold up to 8 stacks of rails. Places a rail in front of the cart if there isn't one already. Anvil Minecart: Falls faster and right-click to open anvil. Rocket Attachment: Reduces gravity when airborne Weighted Attachment: Increases gravity when airborne but is slower and less affected by booster rails Explosive Attachment: When a redstone signal is detected, suddenly stopping, or landing after >3 block fall, explode with the power of 3 tnt Ramming Attachment: Any entities in the way will take damage and get knocked back based on the speed Copper Minecart: Oxidizes over time, slows accordingly. Glow Rail: Emits light Sticky Rail: Stops the cart when run over Hyper Accelerator Rail: Very expensive booster rail that makes carts move 5x as fast Speed Adjustment Rail: Instead of multiplying speed, it will accelerate/decelerate a minecarts speed based on the inputted redstone (15 meaning 15 blocks per second, and 1 meaning 1 block per second). If there are more than one power supply, it will do the equation [(power1 + power2… )/num_of_supplies + 2) to get its speed More soon!

I don't think faster rails is the best option, it would work well and be a big addition that'd make everyone happy, but making a new Minecart feels smarter, that way all current minecart infrastructure instantly becomes faster and doesen't need updated with new rails, just make the recipe like a part gold and copper minecart or something. And maybe a rail that can control speed would be good too, like a redstone signal.
