They Die is a musical trio that gravitates around the gothic-post punk world, offering the sounds of the genre's dawn - of the early eighties - revisited in a contemporary key. The project is inspired by the atmosphere of the alternative discos of those years, reworked in the decadence of our days, obsessively repeating, like a mantra, the love-death duality, seen and interpreted as the apex of an existence lived in abandonment. Emotionally, this song fits the feelz of early 2021, for a ton of people right now, in almost every country. Sure we try to understand, we try to cope or distract ourselves somehow, but on the raw level of emotion, 'tranquility' and 'stability' and 'belonging' let alone 'freedom' are a fading memory and stupid smiley commercials/media trash are a shoddy thin cover over so much darkness and confusion and despair.

Very strong work. One of my favourites. I wonder whether we could have an Italian version of this song. The English text is great though, and also how it is sung in English by Simone (the spelling of break is more like bra than brake as the only comment), I actually wonder how the song is changing, when sung in Italian. Me? I am a German. And I don't want you to change performing songs in English, neither do I think of a German version. Centuries ago there has been a time, where the Italian language has been considered as the language of all music.
