Your content is off the hook. So glad I found your channel. I boxed for 20 years. When I coach beginners in western boxing I drill footwork over and over: it’s defence and offence. Great work, bruv.

My coach from the late 90's called this the Three Strides Movement and was the foundation. I spent the first month or two doing just this every day until he was satisfied there was no sway/telegraphing. If it's done incorrectly it's easy to read where your going. It's not a secret. I always wonder why everyone is always bouncing around these days.

I've been made fun of a few times , but I often say "Farmers make great fighters ". And there's plenty of examples of the concept , Khabib is one . But if you grow up doing hard physical labor like in the field or in the woods , you learn a different kind of endurance . I know because that how I grew up. There is no choice , the work needs done , but if you simply go at it full bore you'll just wear yourself out and not make through the day. Let alone the week or the whole season. So you learn to regulate your energy . To be efficient in your movement and use only the strength you need to get things done. And you build a mental toughness and mind set too because really, like I said, there's no choice. You can't just go home . The whole family is counting on you to get that work done. So you just accept it and keep moving . You aren't rushing just to get through that stack of wood because you know they'll just be another stack tomorrow. These Thai fighters do the exact same thing . They take one thing and do it over and over and over whereas other fighters may bounce from one thing to another so they don't get bored , which I get , but you miss something that way. Put in good training , but don't forget to also put in good work

Can anyone please explain to me why we don't see foreigners training with actual fighters from Thailand? I feel like everything is so commercialised now in Thailand when it comes to gyms specifically promoting training and living for foreigners taking away from the authentic Muay Thai experience in Thailand....

Ye, Breaking has many Parallels to Muay Thai. That's why I love both so much. Rhythm, Respect, Style, Looseness. Most westerners are too stiff and can't move their feet. We B-Boys have an advantage there, but we are still too stiff compared to the Thais xD
@just_torrell Жыл бұрын
Bro you know!!! Honestly, work on your top rocks and rocking and you'll be super super loose on your footwork Shout out to all the bboys!!! 🫡😤
@MrQba Жыл бұрын
@@just_torrellIm talking about Muay Thai. In Muay Thai most westerners are too stiff. And in Muay Thai you have to be loose. So we B-Boys have an advantage. We also pay a lot of attention to feet and proper footwork. The Thai showed it to you because he knew you will understand. I know many fighters, non-dancers, who went to thailand with mistakes and came back fit but with the same mistakes. If you don't see and understand them, don't feel the movements, the relaxation, the rhythm, the Thais won't force. The Budhist approach is also present here.
