One of the things surprised me in Bosnia is that people drink the TAP WATER here everywhere. I tried it and it was good. In Russia you feel some bitter chemical taste so even the filters won't help. But it's also depends. For example in South of Russia in Mountain areas like Sochi people more often drink the tap water because the water from the mountains is cleaner. Last days in Moscow I met a guy from Sochi who used to drink tap water in Sochi, but in Moscow he got poisoned by tap water and had to take a drip counter in a hospital. Well, I've been drinking a TAP WATER all my life, but only boiled one. We drink tea in Russia mostly. And we cook with tap water of course. But yeah, from my surroundings - not many people drink tap water in Russia. But here it's the thing.
@Cairol585 ай бұрын
Most people here in my country may not drink water from the tap because everyone is buying mineral water from the supermarkets. But tap water is just as good, I started drinking it years ago after I bought one of these machines to make your own sparkling water. Funny, I cannot remember for now what they are called neither in English nor my native language. 😅

Western Balkans has one of the highest rainfall annual precipitation in Europe. In Orjen mountain between BiH and CG, there is a village with the highest annual rainfall in the whole of Europe. Something strange considering the landscape is barren and not so lush. But that is because of the geology, the water just instantly flows down into the bedrock which is hollow with cave systems underneath. So the landscape looks Mediterranean, dry and quite barren with scarce soil for plants to hold on. I would love you to visit Vjetrenica cave in Popovo Polje near Trebinje, if you are still there.

I even think what's helping is all the land mines that are still active in the natural areas around Sarajevo since the Bosnian War, so I think nobody can try to pollute the water there. By the way, how's the weather there? Seems like it wasn't hot outside in this video.

So Sarajevo has 2 soccer clubs one is called Zeljeznicar and other is called Sarajevo samo as city name. That stadium you were next to that was Zeljeznicar stadium or people call Zeljeznicar “zeljo” for shorter term. You should visit rest of Bosnia. Good video once again. I am impressed with the smoking culture there. Here in Montreal Canada smoking is seen as very bad, almost repulsive. You can't smoke anywhere without being looked at weird by people and some people even will make rude comments about the cigarette smoke and so on. Many adults smoke in secret or hide to smoke and don't tell anyone they smoke because of this prejudice against cigarette smokers. BUT it is socially accepted to publicly smoke marijuana! Go figure, it makes no sense. People find it more acceptable to get high than to have a cigarette, I disagree with this. The elderly man at the end selling cigarettes in public would be surrounded by police in no time and be taken to police station for doing this in Canada, only licensed stores can sell cigarettes and tobacco products. As for drinking water here in Montreal Canada the tap water is technically good to drink but it smells and tastes like chemicals, so the rich people buy bottled water or have a water filter attached to their taps, and the not rich people we put the water in a big jug and let it sit there until the smell and taste of chemicals goes away a bit before we drink it.

Say what you want but I dont agree with people that say Bosnia is dysfunctional bacause its constitution. Its what they make out of it, the politicians will always blame the system they are in charge of. Its a special model, but just having one president wouldnt change anything, it would maybe be worse. What is good is that we have a culture of democracy at least in public life, and legal matters, even in communism, there was this same atmosphere where critique was allowed to an extend, this was obvious after the Tito-Stalin split where new ideas for socialism were welcomed. The foreign intervention in the 90s gave us european civil laws and an good framework to work on. We can blame ourself who still cling on this fear and vote according to ethnicity and for politicians whos power feed on division and fear. Hopefully Russia in some distant future will become its full potential. I may be naive but why wouldnt she be both in EU and NATO, we could be one civilization from Lisbon to Vladivostok. Russia would become the economic powerhouse of the union, surpass Germany easily. I would like the Russia that was after USSR, when it seemed she wanted to break with the old tradition of authoritarianism. Russia seems to just have changed its symbols, flag etc but the culture in politics is the same old.
