O.k. technical question from a Bjj noob. At 9:24 where Damien goes to his shin on the floor, what's happening here. It's obviously intentional as he defaults to the position twice. It seems to be a base of support. Why is this a good position to get into? I think it's because it allows him to get his back leg into a bracing position to resist the force pushing into him and to help him get back up. I probably partially answered my own question but any insights will be appreciated.
