I ordered this case the day this came out and am loving it. Same bullstrap quality but with the comfort of the closed bottom. I have a 15 pro and do not have the same issue with the USB cutout. It covers the bottom well with no daylight at all. Guess some of that is case to case variation and also a byproduct of a nice big cutout for easy cable connection! Worth the price!!

How does the leather on the case feel ?

I feel like the contemporary is just an andar aspen case without a metal camera ring. I have had multiple of the open bottom bullstrap and I currently have multiple andar aspens. The two big things I noticed going from the bullstrap to the aspen was a taller lip above the screen on the aspen and a wider grip on the bullstrap. This new contemporary case has the taller lip and narrower sides that are big characteristics of the aspen. I feel like this case comes from the same manufacturer as the aspen, not the same as the old open bottom bullstrap. The buttons on this new case are the exact same as the aspen’s, not like the old open bottom bullstrap. And the new camera surround is much narrower, much like the aspen with the metal ring (but covered in leather on this new case). Really wish they would have just made the same old bullstrap case with a closed bottom, would have brought me back over from andar

I have the same issue with my 15 pro silicone case … still I will get the bullstrap .. it’s better than others because of the metal around the camera

This is the best case for the new iPhone 16 Pro (Max), but unfortunately it will ship by November 5 (too late if you have picked up your new phone already).

Another great review. Interested to hear your take on the Bullstrap buttons, of all things. I've been rocking the Andar Aspen for two months now and the one big flaw with the case for me is... the buttons! So sharp and so protruding. Many times I've had the volume on my phone either shoot up or down when I've had to bend at a checkout, or to tie a lace etc, with my phone in my pocket. Puts me off the Bullstrap which is a shame because that is a VERY nice looking case indeed.

Getting another replacement because of the poorly aligned speaker and usb c holes. Stay away from this take the open bottom instead hopefully they can get this fixed

Great video Brian, thanks! I have this case I like the buttons. I feel like the edges are not gripping the phone all the way as if it is not quite high enough compared to the open bottom. While I like this case, I like my Andar Aspen a bit more.

I’ll have to admit the more I use this case the more I love it. I take back my comments about any fitment issues, I think I just needed to get used to it. I believe the little gap will close in overtime with wear. I absolutely love this case!

Ehh, I ordered the one with the open bottom, went for the new close one, but I think I like the open bottom better now since I had it for this long.. but I still have not received my case yet. Bullstrap bourbon case arrived fast last time.

I purchased the lucky coin off of Amazon 2 weeks ago. Can you give a deeper statement about the difference between the two? Is the warranty replacements and the quality upgrade worth the difference in price? I am finding that the color is fading/coming off, onto my MagSafe charger that I use nightly with my Lucky. Wondering if that is an indication of the quality difference. I enjoy the Lucky’s tight closed bottom and smaller cut outs for the speaker however and don’t want to pay 3x the price for a minor upgrade in overall package.

So the quality of the Bullstrap is definitely better and the warranty is nice, but I can't say it's worth the extra money. Now Bullstrap released the contemporary which is a closed bottom version, and that one is much better in my opinion. I don't know if it's worth the extra money than the luckycoin because of how good the luckycoin is, but the leather quality is definitely noticeably better. The Bullstrap is expensive though, so it really depends if you want to spend that extra money for a better quality leather case. Luckycoin isn't bad by any means and I really enjoy mine. The color fading may just be a quality issue. At the end of the day it's a $30 case, so you can't really expect the quality of a $30 case to be as good as an almost $90 case.

Damn, I love this case! Just received it feels so good in my hand and man. It looks so good with my black titanium 15 Pro Max. Yes this is a beautiful and leather case. Is it better than my NR aspen, time will tell, but I would say between this and my and our Aspen, why do I need any other leather cases.

How is the camera bump? It looks like it’s flush with camera? Any worry about camera with this case?

There’s some protection there. It sits a bit higher than the camera, so you shouldn’t have any issues.

I really like your videos, you show everything with a lot of detail. I would love to see a close and slow look at the fit of the case from the front top and front bottom (basically the angle from where you see the phone when you are using it. I want to buy this case but I would hate that gap in the charger. I have returned a lot of cases now because of that 😂

Great Review as always Brian. I already have the open bottom Bullstrap, and I prefer being able to use the gesture swipes more freely with it, but this closed bottom case is actually still tempting to me for another reason: my damn bottom left corner constantly pops out with my Bullstrap open bottom case! I feel like it has to do with the way I pull it out of my pocket or something, but ya it sucks. A closed bottom case would hold the phone in more securely. Maybe I need to ask for a replacement Bullstrap and give the open bottom version one more try before I switch to the closed bottom. Because I really really prefer the open bottom design, I just want my damn phone to stay in it!

Thank you! The closed bottom is much better in my opinion. If you don’t want to spend another $90 though, you can check out the Luckycoin case. It’s great and it’s only like $30. I have a video for it on my channel. It’s very similar to Bullstrap.

To be honest I was secretly hoping that I could use one of my Bullstrap replacements and email them and ask if I could get the Closed bottom model (since I think they're they same price anyway, not sure though), but ya if that doesn't work I definitely wouldn't want to spend ANOTHER $90 on bullstrap haha

Andar is good but their leather is very thin, Bullstrap is definitely of higher quality. Plus they give you 2 replacements per year for a lifetime for that extra price. Drop it once and get a new one and you’re already ahead of Andar in value.

This case sucks. I received two defective cases. The cutouts on the bottom were misaligned on both. Bullstrap told me that since these cases are made by hand, they can’t guarantee a perfect fit. What a crock, especially considering the price.

Thank for replying, Brian. Your reviews are excellent. Perhaps there is a defect on the current run for the iPhone 15 Pro, since you have no issues with the Max. I wish this could have been corrected because I really like the case otherwise. Maybe, I'll give them another shot in a few months and hope they've gotten the kinks worked out. Wish I could post a picture so you could see the issue.

Thanks man! The only issue I had with mine is being able to see through the charging port from the front of the phone. But it’s a very small issue, all things considered. If you have Twitter, put up a picture and tag me. I’d be interested to see what you’re talking about.

Perhaps I could also send you the FB link for the post I commented on with my pics. Also, I recently ordered the Ryan London (metal version) case because the bottom cutouts always appear flawless. I watched your review of that case and I know that you had concerns with the fit, but everything else seems superior.

I received my case, was aware about the open bottom by the charging port. And that still is the same with my case. It’s not all that bad barely notice it unless you’re really looking for it far as the cut outs on the speaker on my promax. It’s perfect! BUT I had to push out on the buttons, power button, volume button, and action button. 🤦🏾‍♂️ it was pretty stiff. It would not work, but it’s OK now. My opinion, I would treat this new closed bottom case like a new PS five or Xbox coming out don’t jump and get the first shipment coming out!!
