As I posted on the original video I know this isn't Tatum or Liszt level difficulty but I really do think this is one of the best performances I've heard period His melodic lines are so memorable that I can sing them in my head when I'm nowhere near a piano weeks after listening to the video. Almost like I would remember lyrics from my favourite song haha

The human mind is interesting to me though. I can remember all of the music to bohemian rhapsody and it's lyrics off by heart Yet struggle to remember a series of numbers past six or seven lol

Just noticed Bar 5 has the sound of Eb minor pentatonic over the Gm7 chord. Not sure if that was intentional or not

Since he's playing in Eb major this is simply playing the tonic over the iii chord, and the F# acts as a leading tone to the G in the Abmaj7 chord. It might look like Eb minor on paper if the F# was rewritten as a Gb but this was most likely unintentional. An interesting thing about this measure is that Charles is climbing down from Bb to the G while simultaneously climbing up from Eb to the G using enclosures. The Bb, Eb, and Ab are also all fourths apart, just with an inversion between the first two. It's actually a very logical line when you break it down this way, but it's still a neat coincidence though!

@@dnlc3977 if u grind a day then just like do a little every now and then it'll be easy. Just focus on reading otherwise itll take ages to learn and u will get less motivated to read
