You talking about sports and all, my dad was my baseball coach and he ran me harder than anyone else and I had ulcerative colitis. Everyone else could have a drink when they finished laps, I had to improve my time or run around the bases or volunteer to work pickle plays if I wanted water lol. Wrestling was the best for sure, first year doing it at 11 and placed 3rd in state, just health was getting worse so dropped it for baseball, all star from 10-14

The problem can come up when there isn't a girls AND boys team. I was on the "boys wrestling team" in a weight slot that wasn't being filled by a male. I kept up with my teammates and didn't complain about being in with the dudes. I didn't win much, but I did win, with both pins and outscoring. I even wrestled (and lost to) one other female (she was also the only one I saw in 3yr). We were both in the 113lb class. This was in small, small town IN and IL, so there's wasn't always a counterpart for sports, and you'd tryout for the other sex's team. In big cities in our states there are girls teams though, so you have to keep all kinds of schools in mind.

Withholding hydration is inhumane. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke can hit someone like a truck in no time flat. Just recently a college athlete died, who was denied water by his coaches. I don't even get the mentality behind choosing to make your team suffer dehydration. Not only is it cruel, it's counterproductive. Your team is not going to be able to play at the best of their ability if they aren't hydrated. Such coaches should be automatically fired

They didn't have a girl's team in this episode. When I was a kid, in middle school, we didn't have a girl's football team. So when a girl tried out and did well, she had to join the only football team, which was full of boys. Legally in USA, if there is no separation of sexes in teams in public school, you have to have a mixed team.
