I happen to live in Marysville Ks, so it was strange to see this pop up on KZbin. Its known as black squirrel city and that is why we have all those statues. The older large white building downtown used to be a grocery store, but closed some years ago.

So glad you liked the video! There are a few houses I would like to go back to with better lighting. When I make longer videos, most of the audience only watches maybe a third of it. Then KZbin assumes my videos aren't as good because people aren't watching them long enough. They quit showing them as much. But I may try to put out videos more often.

@@whatsaroundthebend I agree Al..20 to 30 minute videos are about the ideal length for my taste..most folks don’t have more than a 40 minute attention span..I increase the speed to 1.5 on the hour longs.

@@jbenziggy We use a Sony HDR-CX405. It is one of the cheapest cameras out there. We have been very pleased with it! I am so excited to hear from y'all. I have been watching for several years. I love the history and want to incorporate more of it in my videos. We have been trying hard to improve. If you have any suggestions, we would love to hear them! Thanks for subscribing!

1:23 That's a brick roadway, not cobblestone. Cobblestones are almost round or sometimes almost square with rounded edges. Cobblestones are actual stones and can be hard to find unless there's a suitable quarry nearby. Bricks are much easier to mass produce.

Lots of times, an old farming couple gets old, husband dies, wife is left behind. Either no kids and what kids are out there don't care about the place. Sometimes the place sells to a farmer for the farm ground and he farms it and just lets the buildings go to waste since he isn't interested in doing anything with the buildings. It's sure a shame. Ironically, many farms have been lost to farming.
