"Newcomers to the Village: The Incredible Story of Kostas and Anna Who Changed Their Lives"
In a village in Aetolia-Acarnania, Golemi Nafpaktias, with only 4-5 inhabitants, a dream lives on. Kostas and Anna, two young people who were born and raised in Athens, left behind the rhythms of the big city to embrace a quiet life in the countryside.
The decision was not easy. Athens, with its lights, opportunities and vibrant nightlife, was familiar territory for Kostas. Anna, although adapted to urban life, never really felt like "home".
Both, however, were tired of the stress and pressure of everyday life. They dreamed of a simpler, more authentic life, more connected to nature.
And so, they found themselves in Golemi. There, in a house with a view of the mountains, they began to build their dream. They created a garden full of vegetables and flowers, and acquired animals: chickens, rabbits, goats and sheep.
Caring for the animals and cultivating the land became their daily routine. Kostas, although he misses Athens' nightlife, finds peace in the village's tranquility and contact with the animals. Anna, on the other hand, with her love for nature and her desire for a quieter life, finds complete satisfaction in Golemi.
Their vision, however, does not stop there. They dream of creating a large farm, open to the public, where people can come into contact with nature, get to know the animals and enjoy pure products.
Access to Golemi, especially in winter with the difficult weather conditions, is a challenge. The road is bad and getting to the nearby town is time-consuming.
Despite the difficulties, however, Kostas and Anna remain optimistic. Their love for Golemi, their willingness to work and their faith in their dream are their strong weapons.
Their story is a beacon of hope for the revitalization of the countryside. Their perseverance and dedication may inspire other young people to follow their own dream, away from the city lights, into the embrace of nature.
