It's a fairly easy fix if you'd be up for it! Run the hood under a tap until it gets completely soaked, then you can "sculpt" it into shape. It will retain it's shape pretty well after it dries

Mine in particular is even worse because the cloak is just straight up broken. The hole the clasp piece goes into is way too big to actually keep it in place. Even while doing the water trick that hood doesn’t sit down. Super disappointing.

The Marvel Legends team started photoshopping out pins and the legends community who are notorious for for accepting almost any slop that legends produces called them out on their bullshit and they stopped so to see the BS team start doing it out of nowhere like they can get away with it has to stop its scummy and its blatant false advertising.

It's possible to get that signature look from the hood without the stitches. If he's sitting in his throne, using the overhang, I was able to get it to stay down, and it's stiff enough to mold the sides so that I was able to get it to look how it was supposed to. If you want him standing, I read in another comment thread that getting the hood wet will allow you to mold it the way you want, and when it dries, it'll stay that way. I haven't tried it only because I've got him perfect in his throne, and I don't wanna screw it up!

That is shocking. One tip though, I can absolutely get the hood looking just right in the chair, just push the sides into his neck a bit, and the pressure of the back and top of the throne somehow holds it like that. It looks deceptively natural and accurate. All that being said I'm off to Amazon service to get some money back for miss selling it. EDIT: Nice one chaps, Just snagged a £17 partial credit refund to buy the Archive version from amazon!! They initially offered only 20% but I said can they match the Archive price if they do amazon credit, and they did. I would suggest everyone complain so Hasbro get the goddamn message not to fkk around with customer expectation and false advertising

It's not just the missing stiches that makes it look bad. Also the fabric, isn't as soft as before and it's too shinny. As for the head sculpts upgrade, I don't think they necessarily look better. They have too much red on them this time. The old bluish gray dry-brushing was probably done to simulate the light reflection from the electricity. Under studio lights it's clearly visible, but not so much in natural light, so I'm fine with my original figure. Also, I've noticed the new thrones come much more scratched out of the box than before. I had it pre-ordered just for the updated box, but I'm glad I canceled it.

I have the Archive and a 3D printed throne, from back when the original set was up to $300 on the aftermarket. I later found a deal on one for $60 sealed and got it to keep in box on display. For hands, I’ll use Sidious, and make them fit with tack. I guess people can get an archive for $6 at Ollie’s for the robe.

I almost ordered one of these, glad I passed. We should not support this behavior from Hasbro. They can try to explain away something like this robe as a "factory miscommunication", but when you pair it with the absolutely intentional photoshopping of pinned joints, and the misrepresentation of the product, it's not a good look. Ultimately it's $45 for the chair and some accessories when you have to go get the old figure. Hasbro been taking notes from Super7? Lucasfilm definitely has some responsibility here too. When you compare the trends in Black Series Star Wars quality to the amazing value-for-price GI Joe Classified line, the impact of the licensing cost and interference from Lucasfilm starts to become glaringly obvious.
