I just recently restored two 041 for two brothers ( one anti vibe and one not ) and they are very happy with them . I used them a bit before I sent them home and I was very happy with them too . I just recently got one for myself that I need to restore and I got a 031 recently too to restore .

026 r fab saw. That 041 may need a starter ring on flywheel or a set of morse Fairbanks starter pawls for recoil. Got both on eBay recently

I have two XL-101 homelites that it appears both of them were made at the same factory on the same day 240 units apart from each other! And I thought that was pretty damn cool to reunite them after fifty years of separation. The tag on one has the numbers #2736577 & #2736837 I wanted to make sure I was on the right track before mentioning it to people and then being wrong about what I was saying! So I questioned the ol guru himself! Mr Leon couch who i firmly believe is the man to listen to if you're interested in learning about homelite chainsaws, And getting very accurate information from someone! And he said that as far as he could tell that it appears to be the case from the numbers on the tag. 🤩
