I mean it's not surprising he gets this much attention, he's going to be a very special player. Many fans have been waiting to see this guy in the NHL for years now so yeah they are excited to finally see him in the big league.

Bedard is from North Vancouver. I live in North Vancouver and I honestly feel kinda bad for the kid. He's 18, off to a foreign country to play pro hockey and there is a ridiculous amount of pressure for him to preform, at home and internationally. He grew up here and played alot of hockey here so I have met and played with alot of people that have played with, against, or coached Bedard. Many of those people look up to Bedard like a god. I've met him and watched him play and he is not fucking around. People talk about his shot but his skating is also superb. Maybe not Connor McDavid level yet, but he'll get there for sure. What I'm trying to say here is, personally, the most impressive thing about Connor Bedard is his maturity. The young man has a goal in mind, is driven, and is very disciplined. The hype is no bullshit. This kid lives to play hockey.

Please Conor is one player yes, he is good but come on he has nothing to do with a goal, but the commentator said the goal was able to happen because he screened the goalie. Come on you are going to get people to hate the kid give him his regular ice time with his line, he has been double shifted and still has not scored a goal. It might be sinking in this is not the OHL.

Imo media needs to give him space to figure out the NHL. He’s got immense talent, don’t be bothering him with all this attention until after he’s found success on the ice, he’ll get there but they gotta give him time

Yea I totally agree, he needs to establish himself first before all the media attention. But the good thing is that he seems very mature and doesn’t seem like the media attention is getting to him. He’s just a kid that wants to play some puck

McDavid and Sid had the same media circus when they started their careers. The kid is undeniably on another level like those other 2. It might take him a couple of years to reach his potential but I would be shocked if he's not a dominant player by then. The hype is expected after what this kid did at the world juniors and his final year in the WHL. I'm sure he would prefer to not be under a microscope too but that's the nature of the business.

He seems to have generational-level talent; he seems to have his head on straight; based on what I've seen from his first two NHL games (and bear in mind, I'm a Bruins fan and I thought his first goal was brilliant), he's got serious potential to be an all-time great. But yes, let's dial it back a little; the kid's only 18. The media are so intent on crowning athletes "the next [name of iconic athlete here]", which does get pretty ridiculous. I don't care if Bedard becomes the next Gretzky, the next McDavid, whoever. He's got great talent and skills, and think the important thing is that he develops into a great Bedard. I truly do wish him well.

After how he played against the wings, it shows that this guy should of pulled the Eric Lindros and ran from this team. They are TERRIBLE outside of him. 1 man team, please keep the highlights on him. Hes the only one making chances lol.

They picked him for a reason. They weren’t good last year which is why they got him. You’re saying stuff that’s already known. Your bad you pick at the top of the draft. You know rebuild which is what the Hawks are doing. They got one of the most important pieces to a rebuild in him. They’ll be bad an again get another top pick again and continue to rebuild with him and all the young prospects and draft picks they have. Key word in this is REBUILD so them being bad isn’t knew to anybody not even Bedard.

The wings played some of their better guys specifically because they wanted to play against him, whereas the hawks played their b-team outside of bedard. They weren’t otherwise gonna be in the lineup. They all collectively joined in with the sole purpose of focusing on and playing against bedard. I guarantee if they played best on best it wouldn’t have ended up that way. The hawks played most of their worst guys, especially the goalie. The main reason they shut him down AT ALL was because they put almost all their focus on bedard. Even on NHL roster, that’s not gonna happen because hall is actually pretty good. He was playing with Raddysh and Athanasiou yesterday, both third line players at best and won’t get any playing time with him. they weren’t focusing on those guys or the d-men at all. With an nhl roster, even the hawks nhl roster, that’s not gonna happen very often because they can’t leave a guy like hall I watched in the offensive zone, or even Seth Jones on D for that matter even though he’s overpaid af

@@lances2424 No... I had no idea at all the worse team picks first in the draft, as well as it usually being a REBUILDING team... I think any team that finishes last place is a rebuilding team mr. obvious... all I said was... he should of pulled an Eric Lindros and ran from this clown show of a team... now tell me do you think hes gonna finish best scorer in the league like Crosby and Ovechkin did back in their rookie seasons?

@@Bpolit28 Wrong they played their best guys because they already have their roster picked out. And you could see the wings SHUTTING HIM DOWN, offensively and defensively... he had ONE flashy move that didn't go in... and this is preseason guys, he should be scoring out there in preseason if hes a good player right? mhmm shhh you ppl dont play hockey or know hockey. Just because he had a nice shot in the world juniors and beat bum OHL defensemen... now hes showing how offensively gifted he is outside of his hands.
