Just found your channel. You look fine. Of course such sunshine is going to wash you out. At this point in my life, find myself dreaming of getting out of USA to what would be a haven to me. A little scary, but being of Italian descent, I would so enjoy the people of Mexico or Costa Rico from what I've heard. Best medicine. TY for your videos.

Pretty much anywhere in Canada rent for a 1 bedroom is around $750 at the minimum. $1300 for a 2 bedroom, unless your way way up north freezing where no-one wants to live. Get a small 400 to 600 watt 12 volt to 120 Volt AC Inverter and you can use that coffee maker in your car. Without a car I travel to other countries to vacation as it is cheaper than anyplace I can go in Costa Rica.

I always love your perspective and insights.. but you really are starting to bag on CR more and more. You can, no problem but you've definitely have upped the anti on your negative comments about CR..... but they do give good comparison's, so again, all good.
@riskyron14169 ай бұрын
@@TravelCostaRicaNOW It is the way I find it. And I really can and do visit places in other countries much cheaper and easier than within Costa Rica,. And I do not live anywhere near the areas other Foreigners tend to live in Costa Rica. Thus also why I have such a great deal on the place I rent. But it is what it is from my prospective. And openly honest as I do not have any business interests. Nothing to sell or gain from financially. And again I spent 32 years in the US Army. Per agreement with the Panamanian Government for giving them two fully equipped US Naval Hospitals, one being where John McCain was born, I can receive the best of medical care in Panama. I can also receive medical in Philippines, Japan, South Korea, UK, Germany, Italy/ But certainly not here in Costa Rica where in a medical emergency I would head immediately to another country than chance things here .Circumstances are very different among individuals. And frankly the only reasons I am still here are acquiring too many possessions and my wife who is Costa Rican. And we met and married and lived in Nicaragua and lived there 3 years. After moving to Costa Rica the marriage rapidly fell apart and in under 3 months. Costa Rica really is the Graveyard for Marriage. And you have pointed that out yourself.. Stupidity on my part is not having walked away a good 6 years ago. But find myself unable to do it. And again of all countries I have ever lived I have never made friends in Costa Rica, and I really don't want American friends as Americans themselves are why I do not live or go to the US. Costa Rica needs to offer a form of National Service to Citizens to finance education. But the poor have very bleak futures and I am very aware of many suicides of youth due this hopelessness. Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Canada offer much more to Costa Rican, South and Central American migrants. Those going to the US usually return deported and drug addicted, unlike even 10 years ago where many returned with enough money to buy a home and business. Again it is what it is as I see it. And make no apologies. I won't sugar coat anything and have no reason to, as I do not currently make a cent from anything I do. My income is Retirement and Patents and Copyrights, Manufacturing and Sales contracts all from more than 25 years ago. The majority in China, which I have never visited and have no plans to.

@@TravelCostaRicaNOW Different people have different perspectives. But after receiving only a 5 day visa returning to Costa Rica and a 6 month ban, my negativism about Costa Rica has only begun. I have never committed any infraction here and employ 8 people, never an overstay, never even a day late on rent or any bills. As I told employees in Saudi Arabia we are all ambassador to our own countries and beliefs. Violate the Saudis I will have you on the next flight home. Were it not for my wife I would have left Costa Rica a good 6 years ago. Now the possibility of another short stay visa makes it a certainty I leave.
@robertwilliams63249 ай бұрын
According to Costa Rican law if one pays their rent in colones, the landlord can increase the rent annually. If one pays their rent in any other currency (including the dollar), the landlord can only raise the rent every three years. I have lived in Costa Rica since November, 2010, and have always paid in dollars. I would never pay in colones. Also interesting is one never sees a home for sale in colones. It is always USD.
@MichaelEarthOsada8 ай бұрын
Yeah, but from my experience, probably best not to contest it. My rent just went up $40 from 300. They did put in better internet, but other than that, yes the dollar is down. The prior rent they'd be losing about 11.5mil, or $23, so it's justified. If they're paying another 10mil for better internet etc, ok it's understandable. I've been at this place 9 months. I brought it up that it's not legal to change the price in USD. They weren't aware. But they might just lose money every month in having me...Do I really want to tell them to fk off and say I don't care about your best interests, and btw the contract is valid for 3 years not the lesser amount that you wrote in it? Do I want to get a lawyer to fight that? Have the landlords hate me? Been there. Didn't work out. Done that. Pura Vida Mae.

After receiving only a 5 day visa after returning to Costa Rica as well as a 6 month ban, I am in Panama with a 6 month Visa I can extend to a year. When I do return to Costa Rica it will be to gather my things and move to Panama. 7 years in Costa Rica to have this happen, they can stick it where the sun don't shine. Plus in under 3 hours approached by 5 women contending to replace my Costa Rican wife. So maybe that 5 day visa was actually a favor.
