Ther choreographies are so detailed and meticulous, that even with an explanation video, you would have no idea of how smart and well made they are. I wish there was some kind of video up on YT to walk you through each and every step, how they use their 13 members and each have their own resting bit, how they place each member in formation so that they have time to go to their spot when they have the center part, it's absolutely mind blowing. Seventeen are a 13 members boy group as you know. Wait, 13 members? Yes, tho they were supposed to debut as 17, 4 left before it happened. However, they found a way around it, and the explanation for their group name. 13 members + 3 units + 1 whole team = 17. I mentioned "3 units", yes, Seventeen are further divided into Hip-Hop, Performance & Vocal units. Each take on a part of the process in making a song and its performance. Despite this, Seventeen are constantly together and promote the same way. I'll get into them now individually: The Hip-Hop unit - S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon The Hip-Hop unit is made of rappers, that write their own rap parts in Seventeen's songs! This unit's leader is S.Coups, that also has the role of being the 13 members' overall leader. He comforts everyone, he watches out for them, making sure they're okay, he speaks to the company along with the other leaders, and he deserves a prize for being the amazing leader he is!! The Performance unit - Hoshi, Jun, The8, Dino The Performance unit members are all singers (and of course, dancers). Hoshi is their leader and the main choreographer. That mean he (and Dino, with the whole unit's help in teaching the others and leading the routines), choreographs Seventeen's songs. He's behind all those incredibly smart, thoughout, meaningful, unbelievably hard choreographies. I wish there were analysis on KZbin that explained just how intricate their choreos are!!! The Vocal unit - Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, Seungkwan These members are, quite obviously, singers. Not only within this unit, but Seventeen members' vocal colours are very different and unique. Woozi is their leader. He's the mastermind behind 95% of Seventeen's entire discography, filled with amazing songs and beautiful lyrics!! Basically, he's the composer, producer, lyricist, he guides the members when recording their vocals, teaching them techniques to get the best results. I read somewhere he also chooses and thinks about the album's concepts. There are many episodes Seventeen release that show this side of making songs called "Inside Seventeen", where you can see them during the process of making songs/ an album! They're the only k-pop group with the official title of "Self Producing Idols".
