While antiquing in Illinois, my mom and sister are in the antique shop. I went to the thrift store next door and found a bucket just like yours for $3. It was avocado green with a decal. Took it home and spray painted it a nice red. It has the lid. Really cute in my kitchen window seat.

I also looked and looked for the sheep planters alllll summer long. I eventually broke down and bought one from Amazon. Then, 3 weeks ago I walked into the dollar general, in my very small town, and there were three of them on the clearance shelf. Only $5.00 each. You never know......Anyway, thanks so much for all of the creativity you share. You decorating skills are amazing!!!! 😊

I watch a young lady from Australia and she was doing something in her shop. Lo and behold she had one of the sheep planter in her shop. I was shocked. Love the cutting board, it’s fantastic. I must say I’m not a big fan of the mustard paint but I love it after you add the wax. The sheep on the paper matched up beautifully with the color. 😊❤

Oh my goodness, I went to seven Dollar General stores in my area and could not find these sheep! I don’t know if I need to go further south in Michigan or what. I live in Davison and I’m so frustrated! I bought four of them last year, Susie on the Farm found them too! I know she lives in one of the southern states. You always give me inspiration ❤

My dollar general never had the sheep planter. I want one so bad. Spray with black primer, then dixie belle sea spray with black chalk paint in random places to give it some texture like old cast iron, and then do the dixie belle patina in iron and the green spray.

If you moved the stripe stamp down, so the top of it was somewhere in the mask of the sheep for the first stamping, you wouldn't have to be as worried about lining up to stamp over the top end of the stripe, and you wouldn't get the darker area where it was double stamped. 😁

I think it could be oils. I learned to Tole Paint back in the day with oils. Richer color and richer pigments. It took a few years before acrylics took over as the preferred paint. Easier clean up. I was a teacher back in the day. I love what you did with the project.
