I used to only play full house in the first demo with the faceless deck because you're statistically more likely to draw the cards you want (I think) so it took me a while to get used to playing more straights and flushes in the new demo. All this is to say its hard to break a habit (but more to say that the faceless deck was underated and the golden deck was overated).

@@MegaScytheman I imagine by manipulation with Strength (increasing ranking of 2 cards), Hanged Man (destroying 2 cards) and Death (changing one card into another) you can increase odds of getting cards needed for straight plus jokers that allows straights with 4 cards and joker that allows you a gap between cards, though I imagine going full house would be even better hand to go than flush or straight.

Just like you can play with flushes, but they will be weak if you don't have Gluttonous, Wrathful, Lusty or Greedy joker, or you didn't convert half of your deck into a specific suit. I am sure the right hand to build around is the one you get resources for at the beginning of the game, plus there is more than 2/3 of the game we still yet to discover once it drops.

Straights feel very tied to jokers, but there are tons of ways to make other hands pay off. It is tougher to change rank of cards because it can be insane if you do. Death cards or strength cards to get 8 of any one card can guarantee you can get a full house or 4 of a kind with your given discards

I think that the plus one hand size is deceptively overrated. It doesn't increase your discard size. It only helps with the discard two random rounds, ultimately it usually only lets you see one more card per antie.
