I literally laughed out loud at Bernie's hair because it's exactly what we're doing with my two year old daughter as we're growing out her bangs and she won't wear headbands or hair clips without pulling them out. We call it the whale spout. I think it's fitting cause it looks like she's neglected to cut her hair and her bangs are growing out and she needs an efficient way to get them out of her face during combat. And she's not the type to fuss over her appearance since she's trying her hardest not to be seen most of the time. It's very in character I think.

I honestly expected us to get Golden Deer before Black Eagles, so this was a nice surprise. I liked most of the looks (Bernie, what are you doing; and Petra not having her 3 Houses time skip hair was a personal disappointment but she's still got a good look), but I think the one that got the biggest reaction out of me was Caspar. The man's gone full anime character with the spiky hair, and I swear to you, he had to have done it just so you could see his little forehead scar unobstructed. I don't care if they give a reason in game, it will forever be my head canon he has that hairstyle to show off his scar.

Bernadetta's new hairstyle suits her. I honestly expected something like that (or at least in a similar vein of wild) for new timeskip design in TH. Petra is definitely the winner of the bunch, but I don't dislike the others. Caspar's could be somewhat different, but again it oddly suits him seeing how he is as a person. Looking greatly forward to Leonie, Lysithea, and Marianne!

Caspar is a warrior by canon, not a grappler. So it's not surprising that he's featured with an axe instead of the gauntlets. Raphael, however, was a grappler, so he should be using gauntlets for the Golden Deer trailer next Friday. Love the new designs. Ferdinand is great, Dorothea is beautiful and Petra is gorgeous.

We know gauntlets are movement type and Count Bergleiz was showing using them in a trailer, too. I'm sure Caspar and Dedue will also both have high affinity to get into that class early on, even though its not their "primary" class.

Bernie's design really matches the character. She remains a bit clumsy but seems to be trying hard to keep up a good appearance when she leaves her room. Dorothea is much better here than the 3H timeskip, this appearance made her even more charming than any other. Petra really look like the heir to Brigid's throne and that's glorious! Like Sylvain, Caspar's spiky hair looks better in the 3D model than the portrait, in my opinion (although this hairstyle suits Caspar a lot). Linhardt still looks like a girl, but an even prettier girl. I loved it. And my favorite, Ferdinand von Aegir, is really amazing! This design looks much better on him than the timeskip's, it's elegant, and it seems to be his transition to long hair. Even better than his first design, actually.

This just further cements the all but confirmed at this point theory that all the footage shown so far is during the years that were skipped in Three Houses. So his hair is just starting to grow out as opposed to the end result of 5 years of not getting it cut. Bernie as well. She hasn't yet cleaned herself up, but war is upon her so she is at least making sure she can see clearly so has to keep her hair out of her eyes.

Gotta be honest, in the first moment when I saw Bernie I was almost disappointed, but then her gremlin look grew on me basically immediately after and now I kinda love it. I also love what they did to Dorothea's hair, absolutely gorgeous. Caspar looks quite fittingly like the shounen protagonist of his own story and I love how Ferdinand's new hairstyle makes him look more refined, though I did like his long flowing locks as well. I gotta say among them my least favourite is probably Hubert, he's not bad, but I liked the dapper look from 3 Houses much better...

Edelgard's is still near the top for me. Hubert's is great but I like how he seems to have realized he needed to trim his hair a bit for the time-skip design because that's my biggest issue with the Three Hopes one- Other than that, it might be my favorite. Most looking forward to Leonie and Raphael. Although seeing what they do with Ignatz might be interesting.

I do hope they still go the Age of Calamity route with this and actually have this new version of the story fix the rift between the houses, hopefully with it being towards the end with Shez and Byleth coming together? It seemed to originally be teased as something similar to Age of Calamity, so I would hope they continue that with this game.

Wanted to comment on your speculation on Linhardt's moveset. Those "orbs" seem to be following him around and considering past Warriors gameplay it is unlikely these are traps. These wisps remind me of characters who build up similar things around them to either buff them or power up a neutral strong attack that would use them up. There are probably others, but the one I remember most that had these is Terrako from Age of Calmaity.

Did they ever confirm how much time actually passes in this game? With the exception of Caspar, most of these characters look like a mid point between school days and 5 year skip. So maybe this game is only at most 2-3 years in the line. Also I like that messy hair Bernie is back! Also love Petra’s hair design as well.

Yeah we don't know yet. Everyone saying it's mid timeskip is talking out their butts. However the game's story starts 1 year before the original's, so if they do the same 5 year timeskip they'll still be technically 1 year younger

Petra was a character I barely used in my Three Houses, as I wasn’t huge on her design but this time around her design looks fantastic. I also really liked Dorothea, Edelgard stands as always I think. Overall I liked all of them a lot with my least favourite being Bernie.

Also of note is one moment with Ferdinand as a *Holy Knight* (when he's charging at Alliance troops in the trailer); I personally wouldn't have expected that to be one of his "preferred" classes. I'd think *Great Knight* naturally fits Ferdy more. And then there's Linhardt for some reason wearing a *_blue_* outfit (yes, I know his timeskip outfit in _Three Houses_ is more teal/"dark green"-colored). Not playing the Empire patriot, are we, Linhardt?

Just to be clear, Petra is not dual wielding daggers in the trailer, she is wielding a dagger and a sword. Also, Brawl is confirmed since de second trailer, you can see in the combat arts selection scene a fist simbol between bows and tomes. And there are some generic brawlers as soldiers pretty much everywhere. And Caspar's class as an enemy unit is Brigand/Warrior, so is natural they would making him a axe wielder.

I haven't followed the Warriors news a whole lot so I have no idea if this is a hot take or super common. We already have multiple variations of the Three Houses characters in the actual main game and in Heroes. So seeing them getting yet another design version instead of seeing literally anything from a new Fire Emblem game... or seeing newer designs of way older Fire Emblem characters bums me out. Fire Emblem is my favorite video game series so it sucks to not be excited about Fire Emblem news, but I think I've had enough Warriors games for this lifetime already.

I don't see any evidence they're putting "more love" into this than Age of Calamity either. Each game has a difference focus, and for Age of Calamity they were trying to avoid spoilers as much as possible.

@@JaidynReiman im sorry but i disagree age of calamity to me felt like it wasnt as passionate, and the gameplay reflected that tbh its just larger maps with clunkier mechanics its essentially dynasty warriors 9 but only half as bad. They also didnt seem to put near as much flair or care in the trailers and showcases. I personally think it was forced in the sense of "you want to make another fire emblem warriors tough luck we want you to do zelda first" again its just a feeling i get when i watch the reveals age of calamity feels so forced and bland no emotion. Meanwhile this game i feel like they are excited alot more emotion and care is going in, it gives me the feeling they are excited to show what they been working on for so long i dont get that feeling with age of calamity trailers.
