In NY you need a permit for handgun and license to carry but that excludes NYC and in NYC you aren’t allowed to own and/or possess a firearm of any kind this cause of the dense population of the city. basically you gotta look at the city as it’s own separate entity. so if you have a gun in NYC it’s illegal even if it’s registered and your licensed to carry.
