Le sigh… I’m always so excited about Olive Ave releases and then equally as disappointed once the colors are revealed. They are always beautiful but way too close to previous collections. I can appreciate a continuation of a theme but being just slightly deeper or brighter etc is getting a little boring for me now, personally. Plus, I’m just grumpy that Lyra wasn’t restocked! 😅😬 That being said, Theoretical is gorgeous and I will probably grab Ambrose as well. Also, thank you! Your swatches and comparisons are always so helpful!

Yeahhh I can definitely understand that 😅 and ahh I know it feels like it’s been a while since we saw Lyra, I know she had some issues with her manufacturer now requiring her to restock 3x the amount she previously did, so it makes it more difficult to decide what gets brought back.. so hopefully we’ll see it come back next year 🙈 but yess Theoretical & Ambrose are def my top two picks!! So glad you found my swatches & comparisons helpful 🥰🫶🏼

Immediately jumped from the video I was watching to this one when the notif popped up for me xD Lucky is *such* a pretty winter bridal color… I really like the idea of this “summer reading” inspired collection. I feel like it’ll introduce people to more books they wouldn’t have otherwise been interested in! Would love to see more of these reading list type polish collections…

I loveddd the first collection when it came out, it was a beautiful color palette but I think it was just the summer reading concept that i had never seen done before that really made it so fun & special. Thank you for the great review and comparisons! As a caveat, I LOVE OAP (as you know) and will absolutely be picking up some of this collection. That being said, I wonder if OAP's shade range suffers from Walker's personal tastes being so well-defined, especially since a lot of times the colors tend to be tweaks on an earlier polish. I understand that kind of perfectionist drive but it does lead to a lifetime catalog with a lot of similar colors, considering how relatively few releases OAP has! E.g. she's open about the similarities b/w Ambrose and Palm Trees, and Leafy and Lyra, and while I think I like the new shades enough to get them, it feels strange to not just restock Palm Trees and Lyra! 🤷‍♀ ANYway. I love OAP and criticize because they already set high expectations for themselves. The formulas look AMAZING (a definite improvement over the older shades), and the Summer Reading inspiration is just sooo good. Hearing about the lower shipping minimum is fantastic, I've had a really tight nail polish budget lately but wanted to grab some for my birthday, this makes it a lot easier to justify a purchase -- though a double-edged sword since now I have to narrow down my wishlist more :'(

I completely agree! I too absolutely adore Olive Ave polish but I would like to see a bit more variety between collections. They do seem quite geared towards her personal taste. I always find one or two that I like and since I know the collections will mostly likely be very similar to previous releases it encourages me to wait and purchase once or twice a year.

I couldn’t agree with you more! 🥲 though idk if you saw, but she’s mentioned her manufacturer now requires her to restock 3x the amount she used to, so that makes sense why restocks have been limited, I can’t imagine how hard it is deciding what gets brought back since generally everyone wants to see everything come back lol 😅 so part of me did wonder too if maybe she creates these new shades to avoid restocking some old similar ones? But either way I definitely would love to see her branch out a little bit. Maybe experiment with more toppers, or even just filling in gaps in color. I’m glad you’ll be picking up a few though! It’s hard not to like these colors & formulas lol But yes isn’t the lowered free shipping threshold so amazing?! I wish we saw more brands do that, even if it’s for a limited time!

Thank you for the comparisons! I love ambrose leafy and chemistry 😄 I’m hoping Walker releases some different shades of summer bold blue cause these 3 blues just seem too similar for me. And with Ambrose, when I saw the teaser I thought oh is this a palm trees re release?! I’m glad those didn’t end up being dupes

And those 3 are so pretty ☺️ yeah I’m with you on that lol I do like these shades of blues but I would love something in between Cloudy and Xiala for example! & totally thought the same about Ambrose and Palm Trees too. It’s crazy how different they look bc I could’ve sworn Palm Trees was brighter!

This brand looks so stinking appealing! I remember when I used to watch her KZbin channel. I'm very interested in her brand but just cannot make up my mind on which ones to get. She just has so many stinking gorgeous colors that I want to buy and I'm going to have to narrow it down to at least 6, lol..

I can't think of any names right off hand, but it's mostly her rich chocolate Browns, her rich dark teals, and her dark Navy blues. I'll have to revisit this comment after I've had a chance to look at her website again.

I was going to ask about Crake but unfortunately it’s sold out. I was probably the one that mentioned a green leaning turquoise shade. I know I told someone recently!😂 Luckily I just found one at Marshall’s. It’s Orly’s Vintage. It’s not exactly what I was looking for but it’s close enough for now, especially for $4.99. It is a very pretty polish and I love Orly. Do you happen to know when it was released? This collection is beautiful! I’m still waiting on PPU but if I order I’ll use your link for sure. Aw I didn’t realize it was sold out! I wonder if that was recent, I’m pretty sure it’s one of her best sellers so I imagine she’ll bring it back. And omg if it was you then I’m glad you grabbed Orly’s Vintage! I loveee that one but don’t know when it came out. It feels like it’s been a classic though ! They really have some impressive formulas and beautiful colors! But mainly cremes, so I can see how they might be “forgettable” compared to what’s on the market 😅 I hope you do give them a try eventually though!!
