I love the entire Naruto and Shippuden to no end, but I'm pretty sure it's a difficult series to react. Big portion of the episodes are flashbacks, so definitely expect to do a few double features like this in the future.

The reason for the crazy recaps is because not only did you have to wait a week for new episodes if you started watching at a random episode you could be somewhat filled in.

the way you talked at the beginning about going through this experience gave me flashbacks to watching this for the very first time :D love going through it again with you :) its pretty common for anime to do full recaps at a certain point, around ep 11 is when they give you one, sometimes they release a movie which recaps like a season or certain portion :) its much more convenient for people who watch it weekly obviously for you its worthless :P Naruto is a true knucklehead but he means well just gotta hope it doesnt get him killed or somebody else xD Haku's jutsu is really cool, very unique concept :) I like the fact that Zabuza came back better prepared and used the experience from the previous battle to his advantage, makes him a better villain :) the situation is tense I wouldnt be able to stop :D

Krysta, as you asked whether Haku is she or he... Haku was trans-coded to be a trans girl but due to when Naruto was made, it was not portrayed correctly, so Haku is a girl and uses she/her. Edit: actually, Naruto: Shippuden, and Naruto Blood Moon Movie... actually get's really, really, really transphobic twice... Season 5 Episode 255... is the video you might want to skip or at least skip the scenes with Naruto in it. It's awful. Reason being was, because Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden was written by 2 different teams/company so it's why they went from Trans-Coding to Trans-phobic.
