Thank you so much for This! I divorced my husband of 43 years, because the entire T of our marriage he indulged in pornography and sex, addiction and extramarital affairs. Hardest decision of my life… God is faithful!

My husbands sex addiction came out 4 years ago and since then there’s has been trickles of new information and lies. He refused to do any work. The emotional abuse increased. He watched me have constant panic attacks and my mental health quickly decline. My physical health decline. I finally realized my worth as a person and that I would no longer let his issues eat me alive. I finally separated 5 months ago. At this point I’m still willing to work it out if he’ll do the work but idk if he ever will:

I was the one who asked this question in todays live. Thank you for putting your own experience out here for me and others to read. Ambivalence is real. I’ll be praying for you and your husband. If I didn’t have little ones I would have left already. I know that sounds bad and at the same time me staying is eating away at my own happiness.

At what point do you deserve to live and heal?? Why continue to infect your mind? Your kids know more than you realize. You are teaching them to stay in a toxic environment. If you were in a city that became toxic with fumes in the water and in the air would you stay? Or would you leave and wait for it to be cleaned out and at the same time you be on the medication you need to be healed? Making the wise decision for you and your kids is everything and I think that that's what God wants for us. We want to endure to be martyrs but at the end of the day I don't believe that's God's way I believe that's a distorted man made perspective on being a good Christian woman. I lived through it I let it go and decided I wanted to live instead of die and my life completely turned around. Did it take work? Yes but I'm so glad I made the decision to walk away. At the end of the marriage I told him to go to counseling for himself because he offered to go. But at that point it was too late and I knew it was only stalling so that he could maintain his current image. Don't be deceived by their treachery. If they've done this to you for this long, nothing's going to change. That, to me, is a false teaching amongst churches.

I've been going through something similar and what I had to realize is there is a difference between long-sufferring and staying in a destructive, abusive relationship. Those that long-suffer are anointed for that but a destructive relationship breaks you down and that is not God's plan for ANYONE. God loves both of you but even He had to divorce Isreal in the OT. I love marriage but I refuse to idolize it bc I matter to God. God doesn't place marriage over an individual. This is something you have to wrestle with God about. No one can give you the answer you are looking for but know that He loves you and says very specific things about how we should treat our brothers & sisters. May God bring you peace as you rest in Him

something that someone told me, gave me the strength to leave my seven year marriage for similar reasons is that you cannot control someone else's testimony. While we'd love "our" testimony to be that he went through this and he is now healed and we are all good, that is not up to you. It's up to him, and one things we've been having since earth, day one, is free will. Praying for your healing and the wisdom for right decision-making for your situation. I've been separated for 5 years now and divorced for three and thriving with 3 young children. Trust yourself. Trust God!❤

I didn’t know that loving your husband or ministering TO your husband (through love, through being a safe place, through listening, encouraging, through holding accountable in love) is also a ministry, same with kids and (extended) family, or caring for elderly parents, etc. or people you serve through your work as a case manager in a hospital, or the example that the way you conduct yourself the way you love your family or your kids, I had no idea all those things are also minitry, advocacy, etc.

31:33 to 38:00 confirms and answers everything of my life about how to hear from God, have confidence that he is leading me in the right direction, and not feeling like I have to be forced to do things that I think he is saying to me. I've been struggling in this area of pursuing and furthering my career in nursing, my relationships and more. 38:00 to 40:36: has confirmed what I needed to do relational on all levels. Thank you

1:11:01 Don’t allow a woman to fall for the POTENTIAL.. allow them to see you where you at and see the work you are putting in to who you are trying to become.. but what if you don’t become that person you can potentially be. Then failed expectations has happened. I hope that makes any sense at all.

My husband and I share the KZbin account - but I thought it might be worth mentioning that I was the kid preaching growing up. Its taken me what feels like a life time - and I'm still learning that my value is in that I am a human made in the image and likeness of God and not in what I do and how good I can be at it. So I just wanted to say that you were spot on Uncle Tim, thank you for validating my experience.. and thanks to Tabitha in India for bringing it up. - Savannah 🩷
